The girl caught a fatal illness trying on shoes

The doctors did not immediately understand what had happened to the four-year-old baby.

Sienna Rasul said goodbye to her summer holidays without regret – she liked to go to preparatory school. Moreover, there were pleasant chores like buying new things. On that ill-fated day, Sienna’s mother, Jody, went shopping with her daughter in search of shoes. They tried on, chose, returned home only in the evening. And the next day, Sienna felt so bad that she had to rush to the doctor.

However, the doctor saw nothing wrong with Sienna’s condition. Well, the baby is slightly in a fever, well, the leg aches. The pediatrician calmed mom down a bit and sent her home. But the next day, Sienna’s condition worsened even more. The temperature rose, and the leg was terribly swollen. The baby started having convulsions, she was shaking all over. The girl was urgently hospitalized with a diagnosis of sepsis. Blood poisoning. This is a very dangerous infection, in half of the cases the disease ends in death.

Sienna had to undergo an operation: to open the leg, to clean the festering wound. Then – five days on IVs, antibiotics. The girl is lucky, she will recover. But she still has a long period of rehabilitation, she is very weak after infection.

And all these troubles were to blame … new shoes. It was summer, so Sienna was walking in sandals, she was not wearing socks. And she tried on the shoes the same way – on a bare foot.

“The doctors said that apparently there was a scratch or an insect bite on Sienna’s leg. And through this wound the infection managed to penetrate, – Sienna’s mother told reporters The Sun… – The infection quickly moved up the leg, captured the entire body of Sienna. We were lucky that I was able to quickly take her to the hospital. “

Yes, we have no idea who measured the shoes in front of us. Therefore, you only need to try on shoes or boots on your toes. And even then, after the purchase, you should not wear shoes on bare feet – only after antiseptic treatment.
