The girl ate freeze-dried noodles for a week, and this is what happened to her
The journalist decided to check on herself whether food from a bag is so harmful to health.
Who among us, no, no, yes does not sin with “Doshirak”? These noodles have become so popular that its name has changed from a trademark to a collective name – now this is the name for all instant noodles. But few admit their love for noodles out of the box: in our era of healthy lifestyles, it’s somehow embarrassing to say that you seem to be eating junk food. Here is a journalist
Day 1: light hunger
Fortunately for Hana, the assortment of noodles in stores now is such that you can eat it for at least a month and never repeat it. For breakfast, the girl chose medium-spicy noodles, poured boiling water over her, breathed in the aroma and thought it would be a very simple experience. The noodles went great, and Hana even thought that she would not mind the addition. For lunch, she ate a portion of the spicy Shin Ramen noodles, adding some vegetables to it, this did not contradict the terms of the assortment.
“I thought it would be nice to have a bunch of all this with a burger, –
It didn’t work out with dinner. I wanted to sleep more than I could.
Day 2: crawl to bed
The next morning Hana woke up a little tired, but for whom is such a state nonsense? Again noodles for breakfast (sounds very strange), noodles in the office. By lunchtime, Hana swayed and no longer felt sluggish, everything was as usual.
“For dinner, I brewed a pack of fried kimchi noodles. I ate and felt that I was terribly tired, just exhausted. I crawled to bed and fell asleep, ”Hana writes.
Day 3: can you dilute it with something?
The next morning, the girl’s face was swollen and was tormented by a wild thirst. Still – to eat so much salt! Hana had a seafood ramen scheduled for breakfast. But I wanted to eat a bowl of crispy green salad, not choke on hot spicy broth. She tried to make it easier for herself by adding greens and tofu to the noodles. Hana also tried to diversify the remaining two meals: she added kimchi, mushrooms, crab sticks, but still categorically did not want to eat noodles. Even the very word “ramen” was starting to feel nauseous.
Day 4: “Who is the brake? I’m a slowpoke?”
This day was the worst in the entire experiment. I was thirsty all the time.
“I drank much more water than usual, but my mouth was dry all the time. I really missed the feeling of satiety – this food left me empty. But at the same time I felt nauseous, I felt weak all the time, ”Hana complains.
Another nuisance – the girl became much slower to think. Lethargy, despondency, unwillingness to do anything: “The only thing I wanted was to fall asleep right here and now. And so the whole day. “
Day 5: there is no more strength to hold on
Even on Thursday evening, Hana realized that she would not last all seven days on noodles. I decided that five would be enough. Apparently, due to a fit of enthusiasm, the noodles ceased to seem so disgusting. In addition, the girl seasoned it with apple cider vinegar and vegetables. It turned out quite bearable.
“I felt like I was turning into a zombie. I didn’t want anything, even from a chair it was hard to get up once again. And how happy I was to eat rolls with avocado and salmon and miso soup on Saturday! ” – says Hana.
Total
So, it took only five days on noodles, and this is what happened to Hana’s health and condition. At first, she lost almost 2 kilograms – and this despite the wild amount of carbohydrates and salt. But the point here is rather that the girl did without snacks: according to the conditions of the experiment, sweets, buns and other factors of weight gain were prohibited.
Secondly, Hana is completely exhausted. Lethargy and fatigue became her eternal companions. I only had enough strength for work.
Thirdly, she became incredibly irritable – as if the PMS started at the wrong time and lasted the entire work week. However, in spite of the despondency, there was enough strength to work.
“I became capricious, whiny. I was offended by some little things that I would not have paid attention to before. How my boyfriend put up with all these mood swings, I still don’t understand, ”says Hana.
The girl is no longer going to repeat the experiment. How to get rid of stocks of freeze-dried noodles: nevertheless, if you do not eat them regularly, and sometimes, it is quite normal.
“Especially if you add mushrooms, vegetables, meat or fish to it,” says Hana.

Russian scientists, too, once became concerned with the question of the benefits of “Doshirak”. Specialists of the Siberian State University of Science and Technology named after V.I. M.F. Reshetnev examined the noodles and did not find anything potentially harmful in its composition. Flour, salt, starch, palm oil, soda – a healthy body will digest it all without any problems. Another thing is that there is no benefit in this product either.
“There is little benefit in the white wheat flour that makes up the noodles. The fact is that flour consists of grains, which, in turn, contain an embryo and a shell (in the most simplified form). When processing grain, the amount of fiber and vitamins in it decreases, ”explains Elena Semichenko, associate professor of the Department of Organic Chemistry and Technology of Organic Substances, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Siberian State University.
According to the scientist, in the quantities in which various substances are contained in the noodles, they will not harm.
“However, it is impossible to constantly eat only“ Doshirak ”, because it does not contain enough proteins and fats. The food should be varied: it is necessary to eat more vegetables and fruits, meat, ”the specialist adds.
And foreign scientists noted that not only proteins and fats are not enough in noodles. There are no vitamins or fiber that are vital for normal well-being. In addition, those who eat freeze-dried noodles twice a week or more have an increased risk of metabolic syndrome, a condition that increases the likelihood of developing heart disease and diabetes. Well, refined carbohydrates make us fat: they give a feeling of fullness for a short time, causing spikes in blood glucose levels and forcing us to look again and again for something to eat.
