Breakdowns and ways to eliminate them

Chimney draft problems

If the main burner has stopped igniting, it may be a blockage in the chimney. The accumulation of soot, construction debris, foliage from the street can clog the passage so much that it will lead to the following consequences:

• The mixture of carbon monoxide and air returns to the column and extinguishes it, so it does not ignite.
• Carbon monoxide enters the living room, which can lead to poisoning.

Modern devices “Bosch”, “Ariston”, “Beretta” are equipped with a sensor that controls the presence of traction. If it is missing, the gas supply stops.

You can check the traction yourself. Bring a lit match to the hole in the case. If the flame is deflected, the chimney is working normally, if not, turn off the product immediately, as the ventilation is clogged.

Insufficient pressure in the water supply

How to fix the device:

• Open the faucet and make sure the pressure is really low. In this case, it remains to wait or contact the authorities that are responsible for water supply. Weak pressure often occurs in the summer, when several users turn on the water at the same time.

• Turn off the water and gas supply.
• Unscrew the inlet pipes.
• Remove the cabinet from the wall and place it upside down on a flat surface.
• Pour the cleaning agent inside with a syringe, leave for two hours.

Bad pipeline pressure. If the boiler does not light up, the problem may be in the pressure: the gas is not supplied in the proper amount. To verify this, turn on the burner of the gas stove. If the pressure is low, urgently call the gas experts. There may have been a leak somewhere that could lead to an emergency.

Wick does not light up

Why does the burner ignite badly? There may be several reasons:

• The piezo element does not work. In “Astra” or Zerten there were problems with the igniter. It should burn constantly and be triggered when the mixer is opened or a button is pressed. If the piezo does not work, the wick does not burn, most likely the jets (holes) are clogged. What to do? Disassemble the device, remove the metal casing and clean the jets with a thin wire.
• The automatic column is lit for a long time. The electric automatic system runs on batteries: when the tap is opened, they work and give out a spark that ignites the burner. In this case, the technique should crack. If there is no spark, you need to replace the batteries, it is better to install batteries. They are located at the bottom of the case.

In case of a malfunction, it is better to replace the membrane with a silicone one – it is more durable.

Other malfunctions

Electronics failure. Modern models are crammed with sensors, control modules that control their operation. Failure of any of the sensors or damage to the wiring leads to malfunctions. Water mixing. Most users get too hot flow from the faucet, so they try to adjust it with a faucet. Then the column may go out. Manufacturers do not recommend doing this, because you reduce the life of the equipment. It is better to set a lower value on the regulator Power (power).

Incorrect igniter setting. It is important that the gas pressure matches the design of the igniter.
