The Gastronomic Woman celebrates its second congress

Gastronomy once again pays tribute to women as professionals linked to the world of hospitality.

This will be the second edition of the National Congress of Gastronomic Women, which will take place in the Cordovan capital on February 22 and 23, at the rector’s office of the University of Cordoba.

The meeting is organized by the company Al-salmorejo, and has the collaboration of the Provincial Council and the City Council of Córdoba, 

In it, progress will be made on the prominent role of the female sex in management, and daily performance in hospitality establishments, playing a fundamental role for the true consolidation of its role within society and the labor market.

Last year the first edition of the congress was held where all the attention of the congress was focused on the growing and outstanding work in culinary preparation by women in this XNUMXst century.

On this occasion, the efforts will be focused on the role that design plays within the restaurant room and the factors that influence a good service to customers, without forgetting all those of that make the day-to-day of establishments and kitchens possible, and not only from the perspective of great chefs, but also in the evolution of the production rooms of the hundreds of catering, dining rooms and communities that provide menus and food on a daily basis. to the population of the country.

Looking for how to design and present in the room

The congress will focus many of its program on the factors influencing the design of restaurant rooms as well as the service capacity, putting in its value the products that are usually served within them.

The role of the customer from the perspective of the waiter, in this case waitress, empathizing and building an identity link between the customer and the restaurant, will be the best version of female abilities to succeed in the dining room world.

We will be able to see as representatives of the sector a large group of female professionals from the different fields of restoration, of which we highlight:

  • The Cooks; Fina Puigdevall from Les Cols restaurant, Beatriz Sotelo from La Estación restaurant), Lucía Freitas from La Táfona restaurant), Yolanda León from Cocinandos and Zahira Ortega from El Envero restaurant.
  • The Sommeliers, Eva Pizarro from the Gastronomic Tandem), Gemma Vela from the Ritz Hotel, Mª José Huertas from La Terraza del Casino and Pilar Cavero from Celler de Can Roca.
  • The Maîtres: Sara Fort from Arola restaurant) and Ana Acín from Venta el Sotón.

Your contest will be developed through different presentations and colloquium talks in which each participant will contribute their knowledge and especially their experience in the daily work of the restaurant or the room.

Among all the display of conferences we will be able to attend the most interesting gastronomic workshops that will be developed in the congress, of which we highlight the one that refers to bread in the restaurant, to extra virgin olive oil, and its version at the diner’s table and especially those that focus on the presentation and service of products such as Ham, Cheese and Wine.
