The history of ramen noodles dates back to the XNUMXth century in China. From there, she began her triumphal march across Japan, Korea, and later – conquered Europe and America. And now it is America that surprises with ramen noodles in a hitherto unusual form. Just imagine – luminescent!
The luminescent noodles were created by London-based design firm Bompas and Parr using quinine and natural food colors. You can see and taste the unusual noodles in the Nakamura mobile kitchen. Designer Ami Sueki had been hatching the idea of creating such a place for 3 years, and now, finally, it happened.
On the basis of this kitchen, there is a cafe, which consists of only 6 seats. The venue serves luminescent ramen noodles accompanied by glow-in-the-dark cocktails. The dinner itself lasts about half an hour and costs $ 75.
Cafe with a legend
Nakamura is a cafe with a legend. To create a certain mood among the visitors, an unusual legend was invented. She reveals that Nakamura is a family of youkai, supernatural beings in Japanese folklore. According to legend, this family opened a popular ramen shop for other supernatural beings and spirits at the turn of the century.
Many years ago, the Nakamura children lost their parents in a terrible storm one night. And now, years later, the family was reunited in the old family shop. And now Nakamura children around the world hunt for full moons, when the ramen glows especially brightly, and cook food in their portable kitchen, hoping that one day they can be fully reunited with their parents. Here is such an unusual legend.
First, the cafe opened for Atlanta residents, who were received with great enthusiasm. Now Nakamura is going to consolidate its success in other cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, London, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney and Dubai.
It should be noted that back in 2015, Japanese scientist Kurare also experimented with glowing noodles, he managed to color the noodles in fluorescent colors, which allowed them to glow in the dark.
We will remind, earlier we wrote about a traveling beer festival for fans of Harry Potter.
