The fourth dose of the vaccine for medical personnel. Registration starts in a few days

From August 17, we introduce the possibility of vaccination with the fourth dose of medical personnel: employees of medical entities, students of medical faculties and pharmacists. On the night of August 16-17, we will issue approx. 400 e-referrals – said the Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski on Friday.

During Friday’s press conference, the head of the Ministry of Health announced new guidelines for vaccination with the fourth dose.

“So far, our recommendation for the fourth dose has been for immunocompromised people and those over 60 years of age, which was in line with the recommendation of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). After consulting the medical community, and thus – not only doctors, nurses, but also pharmacists – we made a decision with the Vaccination Team and the COVID-19 Council at the premiere that from August 17 we would introduce the possibility of vaccination with the fourth dose of medical personnel: employees of entities medical students, students of medical faculties and pharmacists »- informed the Minister of Health.

As he noted, “in the first place, we want to vaccinate people who (…) take care of covid patients”.

Minister Niedzielski announced that «on the night of August 16-17, approx. 400 e-referrals, because that’s how we rate this group ».

He explained that in the case of medical students, it is enough to present a student ID. “This will be a sufficient condition to allow vaccination with the fourth dose,” said the Minister of Health.
