The five most unhealthy drinks
We ourselves sometimes do not even suspect what damage we inflict on our own health.
This is not at all about alcohol, as one might think. There are drinks whose harm can be called a time bomb. Moreover, we are used to considering some of them even useful. Yes, and doctors recommend … But recently, scientists from Ben-Gurion University made a rating of the most harmful drinks for humans, and it surprises.
It would seem, well, what’s the harm? The Chinese, for example, drink tea almost nonstop. But the harm here is in the temperature. After all, we love such that it is hotter. And all hot drinks (not only tea, but also scalding coffee, broth in the heat of the heat) burn the esophagus, lead to microtrauma and microinflammation. Over time, all these troubles, imperceptible at first glance, can develop into oncology. So let the tea cool down, take pity on yourself.
This is the other extreme – too cold drinks. They lead to the same troubles as hot ones. In addition, milkshakes act in the most unpleasant way on the brain, causing it to become inert and inhibited. And fitness trainers assure that milkshakes are the best gainer. That is, a means for gaining weight. However, if you set yourself the goal of gaining a couple of kilos, then drink to your health. Just warm it up a little.
In moderate quantities, coffee is very useful: it awakens, invigorates, and boosts the metabolism. But if the coffee is too strong, it can cause vasospasm: the pressure rises sharply, and then drops just as sharply. As a result, our health leaves much to be desired. The tortured arteries won’t say thank you for such experiments, nor will the brain, exhausted by spasms. And if coffee is also with sugar, the body will soon begin to cry for help.
Not so long ago, the Western media wrote about a terrible story: a young man, a family man, a father of two children, worked so hard that he fell asleep on the go without power engineers. It all ended very badly: he is now disabled, the doctors had to remove part of his brain. Due to the shock dose of stimulants, the guy suffered a stroke. And do not console yourself with “moderate doses.” Energy drinks are not useful in any case, and sometimes they are simply dangerous. Nobody knows when your body will rebel.
Sugar and more sugar. There can be even more of it in the juices from the box than in the cola. That is, welcome to the wonderful world of diabetes, bad teeth, excess weight and other companions of a modern person, too spoiled by sweets. There are practically no vitamins and minerals in such drinks. But there may be sweeteners, which are often even more harmful than sugar.
“Perhaps the most dangerous energy sources on this list. They are very high in calories, they are high in sugar and caffeine – it is very easy to exceed their daily requirement by sipping a fizzy. And this is fraught with tachycardia, nervousness, even depression. In no case should they be combined with coffee and sports. And even more so with alcohol – such a mixture makes the pressure jump instantly. Energy drinks are categorically forbidden to be drunk by children and adolescents, pregnant women, the elderly and those who suffer from hypertension or insomnia, ”warns nutritionist Sergei Zlobin.
