Adam Niedzielski: We are dealing with the beginning of the end of the epidemic
On February 9, the Ministry of Health informed about 46 thousand. 872 new coronavirus infections. It is almost 11 thousand. more than the day before, but at the same time over 9 thousand. less than last Wednesday. On that day, there was also a press conference of the minister of health.
– Behind us is the apogee of the fifth wave. This turning point is confirmed in every dimension, in terms of the number of new infections, tests, and test orders for health care institutions, said Adam Niedzielski. He also noted that in February the drops in infections should be very large, in the order of 20 percent. from week to week.

In another entry, Dr. Grzesiowski referred to the announcement that the isolation would be reduced to seven days from February 15.
“Reducing isolation to 7 days, without antigen testing, means that many infectious patients will return to work and social contacts. It’s not in line with ECDC guidelines. Why believe that everyone has eradicated the virus after a week? Why can medics be released after a negative test on day 5? » – commented the immunologist.
Marek Zawadzki, an internal medicine specialist and family doctor at POZ, also wrote critically about the announcement of the “end of the pandemic”.
«This next announced end of the pandemic, the virus in retreat, is a drastic slowdown of the fifth wave (sudden drop in morbidity and deaths), I cry with happiness, because thanks to the actions of the Ministry of Health and the rest, we are safe! Some specialists spoke in a much calmer, albeit critical, tone.
