Vallar from the larvae of the Maybug is one of the most effective remedies. Many insecticides can only get rid of adult insects. Most often they do not act on the larvae of the grubs. Therefore, the drug quickly spread among summer residents. It is used for processing fruit crops, berries (including strawberries), seedlings and seedlings of various trees – deciduous, coniferous. Differs in speed and high efficiency.
appointment
Vallar is a chemical insecticide that is used to prevent and control such pests:
- larvae of the May beetle and other varieties of Khrushchev;
- wireworms;
- false wires.
The tool is used to process different crops:
- seedlings and seedlings of conifers, deciduous trees;
- ornamental plants;
- fruit – apple, pear, plum and others.
Composition and form of release
The active ingredient in Vallar is diazinon. This is an organic nitrogen-containing compound, which includes nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur. Empirical formula of compound C12H21N2O3PS. Belongs to the class of organophosphorus compounds (FOS).
Available in the form of granules, which dissolve well in water at room temperature. The concentration of the active substance is 40 g per 1 kg. The product is packaged in bags. The manufacturer and registrant of the insecticide Vallar against the Maybug is the company CJSC “Avgust” (Our Country, Moscow).
Operating principle
According to the principle of action, the insecticide Vallar belongs to three categories:
- Intestinal – penetrates into the intestines of the insect (along with the juice of the eaten plant) and destroys it.
- Contact – also penetrates through direct contact with the integument of the body, limbs.
- Systemic – absorbed by the tissues of the plant and then moves through the vessels. Due to this, May beetles that feed on juices receive a toxin and die en masse.
According to its effect on pests, diazinon is classified as a nerve agent. Similarly, it acts not only on arthropods, but also on warm-blooded animals. The substance inhibits vital enzymes of the esterase class, which transmit nerve impulses. This leads to the accumulation of acetylcholine, the concentration of which reaches critical values, which leads to muscle cramps and finally to paralysis. As a result, after 2-3 days, the complete death of the larvae of May beetles and other beetles occurs (the effect is noticeable already on the first day).
After treatment with Vallar, the plants are reliably protected from pests for 30-40 days. At the same time, there is no waiting period, so the harvest can be harvested in a few days. From the moment of the last treatment, it is advisable to wait at least 4-5 days.
Advantages and disadvantages
The preparation Vallar, which is used from the larvae of the May beetles, has a number of advantages. Experienced gardeners prefer to spray crops with this particular product to get rid of larvae and adult insects.
Pros:
- high efficiency (total death of insects);
- speed (the first results are noticeable after a few hours);
- increases the survival rate of seedlings and seedlings after planting;
- there are no waiting periods – the crop can be harvested almost immediately;
- used for processing not only from the May beetles, but also from the wireworm;
- slightly toxic to humans.
There are some shortcomings, but they are not so significant.
Cons:
- narrow spectrum of action (affects only beetle larvae and wireworms);
- the finished solution is not stored – it must be used immediately;
- during processing, personal protective equipment, including gloves and a mask, should be used;
- pests may develop resistance (resistance) to the effects of the active component of the drug.
How to apply Vallar from the larvae of the cockchafer
Instructions for using Vallar are quite simple. It is used in the form of a “talker” – a water extract. You need to act like this:
- Wear gloves.
- Measure the required amount of the drug (8 g per 1 liter of “talker”).
- Pour a glass of water (200 ml) into the container.
- Dissolve the granules, stir.
- Put enough earth to make a thick mass.
- Bring to a total volume of 1 L, stirring continuously.
- If necessary, add a little soil to make a mushy mass.
- Put seedlings with an open root system for several hours.
- Plant them in the ground the next day.
Also, Vallar from May beetles is also used 25-30 days after planting seedlings or seedlings in the ground. Granules are scattered superficially, focusing on the consumption rate of 5 g per 1 m2. After that, they add a little bit so that the granules pass into the surface layer of the soil. During the season, it is enough to carry out 1-2 treatments (first in the form of a “talker”, then – direct embedding of the granules into the ground).
Compatibility with other drugs
It is not recommended to mix Vallar with other drugs. Insecticide treatment is best done with a time interval of 3-5 days or more.
Therefore, it is recommended to use it in alternation with other insecticides.
Safety Precautions
Vallar on toxicity to humans belongs to class 3 (moderately dangerous). During processing from May beetles, precautions must be observed:
- Wear gloves, mask, protective clothing.
- Do not talk, do not eat or drink, do not smoke during the preparation of the solution and directly processing.
- Keep children and pets out of the area.
- In case of contact with the skin, wash with warm water and soap.
- If the product splashes into the eyes, wash them thoroughly under a running stream with moderate pressure.
- If swallowed, immediately take several activated charcoal tablets. They must be chewed, then washed down with plenty of water.
- If there is pain in the abdomen and other unpleasant symptoms that do not go away, but intensify, you should seek medical help as soon as possible.
Insecticide Vallar from May beetles is stored under normal room conditions with limited access to direct sunlight. Joint content with food is excluded. The shelf life of the drug is two years from the date of production.
The finished solution must not be flushed into the public sewer or well. They can water the landing site.
The product must be stored out of the reach of children and pets.
Analogues
Vallar has quite a few analogues for the active substance: Barguzin, Mukhoed, Diazinon Express, Enlil, Thunder, Thunder-2, Ant, Practitioner, Terradox and other. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Conclusion
Vallar from the larvae of the May beetle shows good results, which are noticeable already on the first day after dipping the seedling in the “talker”. As a rule, 1-2 applications per season are sufficient. The use of Vallar allows you to reliably protect fruit and berry crops, as well as ornamental trees from various types of beetles and wireworms. Moreover, you can use it at any time, since there are no waiting periods.
