– Increasingly younger and obese patients, who at the same time consider themselves healthy, end up in the covid ward – warns the director of treatment at the Ministry of Interior and Administration hospital in Krakow, Dr. Krzysztof Czarnobilski. Almost all infected beds are occupied in this facility.

At the hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Kraków, out of 106 available beds, only three are available.

– The situation is dynamic, but in recent days we have almost all places occupied – said the director of treatment at the Krakow hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Dr. Krzysztof Czarnobilski.

He alerted that younger and younger patients, and more and more obese patients, are visiting the hospital, who have no history of serious comorbidities.

– Obesity adversely affects the course of covid. We also notice more and more often that some patients, despite their ailments, consider themselves healthy. Severe course of pneumonia with coronavirus sometimes causes diseases that patients have not been diagnosed with, e.g. frequently secret diseases of connective tissue The doctor said.

He emphasized that the course of covid can be unpredictable.

– One of our last patients came to us in the morning in a generally good condition. He was diagnosed with ischemic heart disease. In the evening his lungs were already in a dramatic condition and he needed to be connected to a respirator – he said.

Despite comprehensive therapy and the administration of drugs, including plasma from convalescents, it is not always possible to save patients.
