Experts say asymptomatic people may be less socially isolated, causing the infection to spread more quickly. Infected people who have mild symptoms are likely to transmit the virus more easily when they cough. At the same time, scientists describe the probability of their health worsening as a result of activation of other serious symptoms of the disease as low.
– It seems to be less symptomatic, which is good news – said epidemiologist prof. Paul Elliott, adding at the same time: – But it looks like it’s easier to transmit.
These results are the result of the React-1 study conducted between October 19 and November 5, which also showed that booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine reduced the risk of infection in adults by two-thirds.
