The cosmetologist named 10 procedures that she will definitely not go to

Tattooing, thread lifting of the buttocks and other useless, according to the expert, procedures – read so as not to throw money down the drain.

We decided to figure out what dangerous procedures are on the beauty market, and asked an independent expert to tell you which ten procedures a beautician would never do for himself.

Dermatologist-cosmetologist, Department of Dermatology and Cosmetology, RUDN University

Liposuction

I will never do this procedure for myself, since this is a serious surgical operation accompanied by anesthesia, punctures on the skin of 2-5 mm, great tissue trauma and a serious long recovery period. In addition, liposuction performed in one part of the body provokes the accumulation of fat in other parts that are not even obvious, such as the wrists, ankles, neck, forearms, and so on. After liposuction, at the sites of cannula work, as a rule, fibrosis occurs – tissue compaction, such bumps that dissolve for a long time and look worse than cellulite, forming an inaccurate skin relief, with sinking, irregularities. There is cryolipolysis on the market – an absolutely safe procedure that allows you to get rid of fatty deposits. It has a minimum of contraindications. And the safety lies in the fact that the attachments are placed externally, there are no punctures and anesthesia, there is no serious interference with the body, and therefore, the recovery process is reduced to a minimum. With cryolipolysis, fat cells are destroyed not at the time of exposure to cold, but over the next two to three months. This means that the process is more physiological, does not provoke inflammation and scarring of tissues. The breakdown products of fat cells are eventually excreted from the body through the blood and lymph. Now there are many attachments on the market, and by choosing them correctly, a doctor can make a woman just a perfect body.

Eyebrow tattoo

Today I am a brunette, and tomorrow I want to be a blonde or a redhead. If I inject Botox into the corner of my eye, then my eyebrows will rise, and if I don’t follow my face, then due to gravity my eyebrow will go down. Eyebrows of different shapes come into fashion – wide, narrow, fluffy and so on. Eyebrows, clogged with one paint and one shape, severely hamper a woman’s possibilities before changes. In addition, the paint from the tattoo is gradually washed out, changing its color to red, red, purple, and so on. Now there is an excellent microblading technique that creates the effect of temporary eyebrow tattooing. And for women who think about eyebrow tattooing, I would advise to pay attention to this particular procedure.

Upper eyelid tattoo

Especially I will not “draw” arrows. Here I can list all the same reasons as with eyebrow tattooing, but I will add that the age-related ptosis of the upper eyelid (gravity) has not yet been canceled, and even if the girl carefully cares for the skin of her eyes, the eyelid tattoo is gradually washed out and loses its color. the form becomes blurred, the arrow becomes, as it were, dirty, sloppy. In addition, this greatly limits the girl’s possibilities before changing the image – it is no longer possible to do delicate girlish makeup, you cannot change the shape of the eye. For me, as a woman, these are very important arguments, so I would never do hard contouring things on the eyebrows and in front of my eyes.

Thread lifting of the buttocks (filamenlifting)

Firstly, this is a very painful procedure, since the area is very sensitive due to the large accumulation of nerve bundles. For a really noticeable effect, more than three hundred threads need to be placed in the gluteal region, which means that this is a rather lengthy (usually more than two hours) and expensive procedure (its cost sometimes reaches 130 thousand rubles). After the procedure, you need to do everything in order to maintain the effect as long as possible (maximum up to a year!), Which means to reduce physical activity, avoid significant amplitude of movements in the hip joints (active dances are also canceled), sudden movements with significant muscle effort (a sharp rise of something heavy, for example). Any type of massage in the gluteal region, any thermal procedures (sauna, steam bath and even a hot bath) are prohibited, and it is also contraindicated to sit for a long time (more than an hour in a row), especially on a hard one. As a result, we make a complex, lengthy, expensive procedure, the effect of which in reality lasts about six months.

Vacuum cleaning

I must say right away that I, as a cosmetologist, consider an extremely complex cleaning, in which both devices and the good professional hands of a cosmetologist are involved. All devices designed for cleaning (vacuum, ultrasound, brushing) are insufficient cleaning of pores, and using them without manual cleaning is a waste of time and money. For example, ultrasonic cleaning only softens the contents of the sebaceous glands, but cannot completely remove the entire secret. And vacuum cleaning and brushing, cleaning the surface of the skin, harm the collagen network, stretching it. Since the structure of the sebaceous gland is very narrow and goes with its roots to the basal, the deepest layer of the skin, all these devices remove surface impurities, while leaving the contents of the sebaceous glands in place. Cleaning should be carried out only in a comprehensive manner, preparing the skin with hardware methods, softening the contents, but it can be removed from the skin only with the golden hands of a good doctor. And in the final part of the procedure, it is necessary to carry out a competent procedure for closing the pores. Only in this sequence will cleaning be effective, and its result will last for a long time.

Silicone implants in the cheekbones

The presence of beautiful high cheekbones in a woman is simply a standard of beauty. However, I would never highlight this area with zygomatic implants. The structure of our face is such that the eye socket creates a zygomatic roll, and in some it is more, in some it is less. But if a woman takes good care of her face and makes sure that the ptosis of the skin does not “drag” her cheekbones, then they will always be in place. Zygomatic implants are a surgical procedure that takes about an hour and takes place under local or general anesthesia. The implant is inserted through the lower eyelid or through the oral cavity. And even after the recovery period, this change becomes noticeable, the woman’s face changes, and sometimes not for the better. In my opinion, cheekbones lend themselves very well to changes with the help of fillers, I value hyaluronic most of all, but there are many other “fillers”. Therefore, for those girls who are thinking about changing the shape of their cheekbones, I would recommend this method.

Hypertrophic lip augmentation

Beautiful sensual lips, well hydrated and healthy in color – this is very beautiful, it always gives a woman’s face youth and health. But I am totally against hypertrophied lip augmentation. I do not want to impose my aesthetic ideas on anyone, but I am very glad that gradually a healthy sensual swelling is replacing the “duck’s beak”. Nevertheless, until now, when patients with hypertrophied lips and the consequences – stretched skin of the lips come to my appointment, I sincerely feel sorry for them. And here the role of the doctor who must convince the client to choose the right size and shape, as well as choose the right dosage, is invaluable!

Mechanical dermabrasion

This is a mechanical peeling that removes the upper layers of the skin down to the basal. The procedure is very harsh, injures the skin, and takes a long time to recover. The main thing is that the procedure is uncontrollable, because if the basal layer is damaged in the process, then the patient in this place may have a scar or retraction of the skin. With his own eyes, without a special apparatus, the doctor physically cannot control the depth of penetration of the abrasive nozzle. Now there are high-precision hardware techniques that can relieve the patient of post-acne, scars, colloids and scars. And they will do it perfectly and guaranteed, calculating the skin layers to a micromillimeter.

Deep chemical peeling

This peeling contains phenol, a potent acid that penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and has a generally unpredictable effect. The risk of damaging the basal layer of the skin is very high, even when the procedure is performed by an experienced beautician, since phenol is an extremely toxic chemical compound. How your skin will react to acid, what is the penetration time for your skin, no one will tell. One can only roughly imagine that for oily dense skin, the action time is a little longer, and for thin, but prone to acne, a little less, but these are all approximate data. In my understanding, the procedure for deep chemical peeling should be completely replaced by high-precision devices, since I only advocate a guaranteed result.

Baby-face

This is a new fashionable complex of acupuncture procedures aimed at eliminating shallow wrinkles, preventing ptosis, stimulating the production of elastin and collagen, eliminating puffiness, activating lymph flow, and correcting skin color. In one session, from 50 to 120 special needles can be used. Personally, I will never go to such a procedure in Moscow in my life, because no European is able to thoroughly study the ancient philosophy of China that accompanies this direction of medicine. Moreover, even while traveling in China, I will not go to such a doctor without the recommendation of good specialists I know. Of course, for us Europeans, all this is very interesting, but it is not at all necessary to strive to do something alien to us, to grasp this technique as a panacea. In Russia in general, and in Moscow in particular, there are excellent doctors who have excellent experience, the quality of the result is not inferior to babyface, and maybe sometimes even better. For example, mesotherapy with nappage technique or mesoscooters in combination with collagen ampoules.
