The correct way to wash cans before sterilizing

Preservation is a great way to “take in winter” the tastes and smells of summer berries and fruits. Moreover, you can preserve at any time of the year, because each season has its own products, from which delicious preparations will be obtained.

One of the most popular preservation methods is sealing, when the workpiece is placed in a jar, in which it waits in the wings. We counted as many as 5 ways to sterilize cans.

But whichever one you choose, the jars must be thoroughly washed before sterilizing. It is a big mistake to do this as if you were washing the dishes using your usual detergents.

It is better if you act in the old fashioned way in this matter. Namely: wash the cans in a solution of baking soda (1 teaspoon per 1 liter of water) or laundry soap. It is both more environmentally friendly and more reliable.

Good canning!
