The correct diet on vacation

Every time we go on vacation, we tell ourselves that there – on the beaches and in beautiful cities – everything will be completely different for us, and we will begin to eat right. But each time, barely plunging into the plane, we begin to eat even more wrong than always. Woman’s Day gives some tips on how not to ruin your vacation with digestive problems.

The main reasons for gross violations of the correct diet are usually money and time savings, as well as tempting local delicacies. Curiously, some tourists start having stomach problems even before arriving at their destination – that is, on a plane or airport.

Don’t forget about water

Headaches, indigestion, constipation, fatigue, hunger. All of these signs can be attributed to one problem – dehydration. To avoid it, you need to drink a few sips of water every hour – especially on an airplane. Avoid coffee and energy drinks – they help remove moisture from the body. All kinds of sodas and sodas that are often offered on board are not a substitute for water. This is the purest sugar. And fruit juice is no better. After all, on the plane it is rarely possible to get something that is really juice. Finally, alcohol is the main “no” on the plane. Some people think it helps them sleep. Maybe. But the awakening will not please you.

Oatmeal porridge is the perfect hot snack to make even at the airport.

Protein and fiber

It is the products rich in these substances that should be preferred – both in general and especially during travel. Has it ever occurred to you to take a few bags of dry oatmeal with you? In vain. It can be diluted with hot water by a flight attendant or a friendly bartender in an airport cafe. And now you have the perfect hot snack in your hands. And if you also bring watery fruits and vegetables with you, you will be assured of excellent well-being on the road.

A diet rich in protein helps to dull the appetite for sweets. You can take with you low-fat cheese, beef or turkey ham, hard-boiled eggs, peanut butter sandwiches on cereal bread. However, beware of protein bars (various types of muesli covered in chocolate, yogurt, or something else). The sugar content in them is sometimes just off scale.

There is a “golden rule” of nutritionists: 80% what you eat should be healthy. And then on the rest 20% you can come off. That is why it is so important to provide yourself with snacks and snacks rich in vitamins and nutrients in advance. You will satisfy your hunger with them and then you will be able to eat, say, a little sweet.

You will forgive yourself the sudden holiday gluttony, since you will only eat national dishes.

We travel and don’t get fat

Traveling isn’t just fun. It is also very stressful. And therefore, already at the airport, hunger begins to torment you terribly. We’ve already covered how to deal with it and not harm your body, but even when you land and start resting, lingering stress can still be around. You will forgive yourself the sudden holiday gluttony, since you will only eat national dishes. What can be harmful in them? Spaghetti in Rome is as holy as the Colosseum. No. They don’t get fat from the Colosseum. Limit yourself. Stick to the regime – breakfast, lunch, dinner, no matter how great the temptation is to grab a “ma-a-a-a-a-scarlet” slice of pizza on the go.

Another enemy is the all inclusive system. At home, it would never occur to you to eat a slice of cake for breakfast and several main courses for dinner. However, it is very difficult to resist when you have an almost unlimited choice of delicious food. The rescue of drowning people is the work of the drowning people themselves. Create an optimal diet for yourself, based on the gastronomic offer of the hotel, and stick to it. Healthy breakfast, hearty lunch, light and early dinner – no miracles, but the figure is fine!
