So-called soft drugs are often practiced in circles of young people. Teenagers are sure that such drugs are not addictive, but they can put them in a state of euphoria. To escape from problems in the family, school or personal life, because first love is often painful, young people acquire drugs. At the same time, dealers, understanding the desires of this age category of buyers, create special preparations with a weakened effect on the central nervous system.
Mild drugs wear off quickly, requiring the person to repeat the drug frequently or increase the dose. One such substance that has become very popular among young people is spice. This is a smoking blend that helps to relax, thereby creating the illusion of complete peace and tranquility, in which all problems disappear. Habituation comes already for the second or third time. It is already difficult to stop, and after 10-20 times it is almost impossible. The constant effect of the drug on the central nervous system causes irreversible deformations in the psyche. Often this leads to the development of schizophrenia.
The connection between schizophrenia and drugs — what is important to know?
Regular consumption of narcotic substances leads to destruction in the central nervous system. The symptoms of such processes are the following:
- Acute hallucinations can be auditory or visual. A person sees different objects, people, hears someone, music, sounds and voices sound in his head.
- The thought process is disturbed — it is difficult to remember past events of the present day, to realize what is happening, to systematize thoughts in the head.
- The surrounding world is perceived incorrectly — it begins to seem that people around are plotting something, want to do harm, that someone is hiding in the closet, there is a wiretapping on the phone, and so on.
The worst symptom is increased aggression. People who have been exposed to drugs and develop schizophrenia on this background become emotionally unstable. They can harm others. The reason for this is the desire to get a new dose or to get money to buy it.
Types of drugs that cause symptoms of schizophrenia
Speaking about the category of soft drugs, in addition to the slice, the danger in itself is also marijuana. In some countries, this drug is legal and publicly available. It is believed that it is not capable of harming human health, while with its help it is possible to free the brain from excess «trash» and start the thought process. Scientists have proven that regular use of marijuana leads to irreversible consequences, such as:
- constant loss of strength, which develops into chronic fatigue;
- anxiety;
- panic attacks;
- obsession;
- distraction;
- delusional thoughts;
- there is even an idea to commit suicide, because drugs no longer bring such joy as the first time.
These symptoms can lead to depression, the development of schizophrenia, and other severe mental illnesses. In addition, in medical practice, there have been situations more than once when, if timely assistance was not provided, patients simply ended their lives by suicide. Sometimes, the development and course of the disease occurs completely unnoticed, and no one expects a person to be capable of such actions. But, the fact remains, and modern realities demonstrate the fact that only patients who do not fight the disease in a timely manner and leave the course of the disease unattended begin to think about suicide.
