The coccyx – otherwise the coccyx. It is the final section of the human spine, which is made up of three to five fused vertebrae. The largest is the first and contains articular processes that serve to connect with the sacrum. The remaining vertebrae, on the other hand, are made up of only shafts. The coccyx does not carry the weight of the human body and, like other elements of the spine, it is susceptible to all kinds of injuries. It is also weakened or strained.
Tailbone in humans, it occurs in a place where it developed in other mammals tail. Although a human has genes that determine the possibility of developing it, this process is inhibited in fetal life. This is an extraordinary phenomenon that for many scientists is irrefutable evidence of evolution.
Tailbone meets the important functionsnamely: ligaments, tendons and muscles are attached to it. In addition, it also supports the body in a sitting position. It is very important in our anatomical structure and is subject to wear and tear as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle or as a result of disease. Pain in the coccyx can also be a sign of weak muscle adhesion. Whereas bruised, broken or fractured tailbone it can be very painful, and the more severe the injury, the longer the pain or discomfort lasts. When it comes to susceptibility to this type of injury, the most susceptible are those suffering from osteoporosis, as well as athletes who practice cycling, because in this sport discipline the sacral spine is the most stressed.
When the tailbone pain lasts for a few days, we can say that a bone fracture may have occurred. It is best then to see a doctor so that he can determine the severity of the injury. During recovery, we may experience pain during bowel movements, sitting for a long time, or even having intercourse. Sometimes, however, such a fracture requires surgical intervention and surgery. It occurs when it is necessary to remove the fragments of a broken bone. It is true that such situations are rare, but you have to take them into account. Typically, treatment focuses on minimizing pain and waiting patiently for it spontaneous fusion of the coccyx. Of course, painkillers help with this, it is also recommended to avoid long sitting in one position and the use of cushions that minimize the contact of the damaged bone with the seat. A quick recovery can also be accelerated by a physiotherapist with the use of ultrasounds, lasers, calcium iontophoresis or a magnetic field.
For tailbone bruises, try the Stadiogel cream for injuries, which you can buy at medonetmarket.pl separately or in the Set for injuries for day and night (Stadiopasta + Stadiogel).
Tailbone can also hurt in during pregnancy. The expanding uterus puts pressure on the surrounding tissues, including the spine. A woman may feel discomfort then, and even achethat radiates downward from the upper spine. Of course, women who have suffered in the past are more prone to such pains spine injuries and because of this they felt pain. There are also times when tailbone pain accompanies a woman after childbirth. Then it may be a consequence of natural childbirth or health damage due to e.g. heavy pressure or birth complications. The causes of back pain can also be diseases of the lower spine, e.g. discopathy, degeneration of the spine, sciatica.
