The Church has joined the campaign to promote vaccination against COVID-19. In early July, Archbishop Gądecki emphasized that vaccines are an important tool in reducing infections, and that they support all those who decide to take the preparation. Now, in many Polish parishes, the faithful can get vaccinated right after Mass. And this is thanks to mobile points that open near churches.

The Church encourages vaccination against COVID-19

The expected fourth wave of the COVID-19 epidemic is getting closer, and unfortunately there are fewer and fewer people willing to vaccinate. While on June 3, a record 620,8 thousand were vaccinated. Poles, today this number does not exceed 100. and keeps falling. In early July, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski admitted that the authority of the Church could help a lot in persuading Poles to accept the vaccine.

Experts spoke in a similar vein. – This is (…) an element that we lack – a clear voice of the Church – said the national consultant in the field of infectious diseases, prof. Andrzej Horban. In the program “Onet.Rano.” Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski, an immunologist, said directly: – We will not be able to cope in smaller towns without the help of the Church.

The president of the Polish Ecumenical Council responded to the minister’s words. «The commandment of love says to care for your neighbors and yourself, so I encourage everyone to get vaccinated. Let us listen to epidemiologists, let us convince those who succumb to disinformation. Let’s vaccinate for the common good »- wrote Bishop Jerzy Samiec on Twitter. In a statement published in early July, the chairman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, emphasized that vaccination against COVID-19 is an important tool for limiting the spread of infections.

The metropolitan of Warsaw, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz – Department of Pastoral Care of the Archdiocese of Warsaw sent a letter to priests in which he encourages them to be involved in the promotion of vaccination. The bishop of Elbląg, Jacek Jezierski, recently appealed to the faithful of his diocese, asking them to forestall a new wave of epidemics and to undergo vaccinations against COVID-19. “God has given us the time to live on earth, for work, creativity and family community. Yet our life is fragile. By failing to follow the doctors’ recommendations, we risk losing it prematurely. So I appeal to all those who are not vaccinated: do not give up vaccinations! ”.

Mobile vaccination points at churches. Greater Poland and Mazovia

Now, mobile vaccination points are being set up in some parishes, mostly near churches. They can accept a single-dose preparation of Johnson & Johnson without prior registration.

This is the case, for example, in Wielkopolska. On August 1, the vaccination campaign takes place in the Leszno district; in the parish of st. James the Greater the Apostle in Święciechów, and the parish of st. Stanisław Bishop in Rydzyna. The inhabitants of the Turkish poviat will also be able to take advantage of the action. The action will take place at the Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Fatima in Turek Obrzębin, and the Parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Dobra).

In turn, in the Kola poviat the vaccination campaign is carried out at the Parish of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Koło, the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kłodawa, and the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Piem.

In the Kalisz poviat you can get vaccinated in the parish of Of the Holy Cross in Brzeziny, the parish of st. Catherine of Alexandria in Iwanowice, and the parish of st. John the Apostle and Evangelist in Koźminek.

Points at parishes will be open from 9 to 18, you just need to have your ID card.

In this way, residents of some parishes can be vaccinated against COVID-19 in Mazovia. Mobile vaccination points were established in Zbuczyn, Wiśniew, Łopacin, Kluków, Staroźreby, Gozdów, Łęg Starościński, Lipniki, Jastrzębie and Głowaczów.

On August 1, vaccination points near churches were also opened in in seven localities of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship: Gąsawie (Żniński district) – at the church of St. Nicholas, 8-11; Izbica Kujawska (Włocławek district) – playground of Primary School No. 2, 9.30-16; Kłóbce (Włocławek district) – Health Center, hours. 8-11; Łabiszyn (Żniński District) – Agamed Outpatient Clinic, hours. 9-13; Pakości (inowrocław district) – Pilgrim House of the parish of St. Bonaventure; Starogrodzie (Chełmno district) – Gościniec, at 9-12; Szczepanów (Mogilno district) – the former catechetical room of the parish of St. Bartholomew.

A similar action was organized in at other churches in Lesser Poland or in their vicinity. On August 1, mobile vaccination points operate at churches in Niedźwiedz (Limanowa poviat), Spytkowice, Laskowa, Ropa, and Radgoszcz. Vaccinations will also be carried out in cultural centers, in schools and after-school clubs in Piwniczna-Zdrój, Łukowica, Nawojowa, Ropa, Radgoszcz and Gromnik. The director of the press office of the Archdiocese of Krakow, Fr. Łukasz Michalczewski: – I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity – he said. Mobile points are waiting for residents from 7.30am to 15.30pm.

On August 1, mobile vaccination points operate in 10 parishes in in the province Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. There are two parishes in Olsztyn on the list: of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (ul. Mickiewicza 10, 9 am-16pm) and św. Józefa (ul. Jagiellońska 41, hours. 9-14), as well as the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Gietrzwałd in Gietrzwałd (ul. Kościelna 4, hours 10-17). In Ełk, a mobile vaccination point will be located in the parish of St. Rafał Kalinowski (ul. Jana Pawła II 6, hours 7-18), and in Elbląg in the parish of St. Wojciech (ul. Wiejska 4, 8 am-15 pm).

You can also get vaccinated in parishes: St. Józefa in Pasłęk (11 Św. Wojciecha Square, 8am to 14pm), the Holy Trinity in Morąg (10 Cardinal Wyszyńskiego Street, 8am to 14pm), St. Brother Albert in Iława (ul. Brata Alberta 2a, 10-14.30), the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lubawa (ul. Kościelna 5, 9.30-13.30) and św. Thomas the Apostle in Nowe Miasto Lubawskie (ul. Kościelna 10, hours. 10-14).

The action is also carried out, among others in the province Świętokrzyskie, in Podlasie.
