Pigmented Moles – Mole or Cancer?

The first cancer that shows symptoms on the hands, face, under the nails or behind the ears is melanoma, which is one of the skin cancers. Pigmented lesions, also known as moles, are a natural phenomenon – on average, every Pole has 15 or 20. They are uniform in color, symmetrical, and do not grow.

Every year we should check our pigmented birthmarks, even if we have them from birth. Under the influence of, for example, exposure to the sun, they can become more complex. The dermatologist should also see all other changes that appear on our skin. Even the innocent looking ones can turn out to be cancerous. In principle, it is impossible to judge it on your own – it is necessary to have a dermatoscope examination.
