The best skin cleansers: which one to choose

You can use the most expensive creams as much as you like, but if there is no competent skin cleansing, even the most revolutionary formulas will not be able to show their full potential. Find out how to wash your face and remove makeup using the best cleansers, according to the editors of Healthy-Food.

Why you need to cleanse your face

It is unlikely that we will discover America if we say that the beauty of the skin begins with such a banal, at first glance, action as cleansing.

Even if you do not use decorative cosmetics, the following linger on your face:

  • remnants of cream and serum;

  • sebum, dead cells;

  • dust particles.

This “explosive mixture” does not improve the condition of the epidermis, which means that it is better to get rid of it.

“To prevent clogging of pores, the appearance of comedones and blackheads, be sure to cleanse your skin regularly and thoroughly,” says Alexander Prokofiev, dermatovenereologist, medical expert of the La Roche-Posay brand.

Use cleansers twice a day.

Cleansing Rules

A few simple rules will help make the process delicate, but effective.

  • Wash your face no more than twice a day, otherwise the skin will begin to intensively produce sebum. Adjust the temperature of the water: ideally, it should be slightly warm. But contrasts and temperature changes may well lead to skin problems. Be sure to wash off any make-up remover, including micellar water.

  • After washing, gently pat your face dry with a towel without rubbing your skin. By the way, instead of a cloth towel, it is better to use a disposable paper one.

  • Don’t forget to finish cleansing by wiping your face with tonic using a cotton pad. The tonic will remove the remnants of make-up remover, restore the pH level and narrow the pores.

Stages of cleansing

Cleansing the skin at different times of the day is not essential, but still different.

  1. In the morning – the minimum program: foam or gel for washing plus tonic.

  2. In the evening, make-up removal is added to them. In addition, in the evening it is good to make cleansing masks.

Makeup Remover

Remove makeup before washing. You can do this with:

  1. cosmetic milk or lotion;

  2. micellar water;

  3. special oil.

Makeup remover formulas dissolve make-up and remove it from the surface of the skin.

Washing

If you want this process to be as comfortable as possible, choose a product according to your skin type. For dry and sensitive, cream, foam or mousse are suitable. For oily – gel.

Deep Cleansing

Use clay masks and scrubs with abrasive particles no more than 1-3 times a week, depending on skin type.

Toning is an essential step in skin cleansing.

How to choose a cleanser

There are at least three selection criteria: efficiency, comfort in use, skin type. And the main one is the last one.

  1. For dry skin, oily textures are suitable. Use milk or cosmetic cream with moisturizing ingredients.

  2. For combination and oily skin, a gel or foam with a slight exfoliating effect is indicated. As a rule, acids are responsible for it.

  3. Recently, even micellar water has been created for various skin types.

Scrubs for sensitive skin

Quite often, even the reactivity of the skin does not stop girls from using a scrub. Well, what about: exfoliation is the first remedy against dullness. But the truth is that exfoliation is not recommended for those with sensitive skin.

For sensitive skin, a gentle cleansing is enough, and as a care, a moisturizing cream or fluid.

On the packaging, look for the label “hypoallergenic” and “suitable for sensitive skin.”

Focus on the list of ingredients: the shorter it is, the less risk of irritation and redness. It is good if the formula contains thermal water, bisabolol, allantoin, squalene or its derivatives.

Keep in mind: natural oils, strong fragrances and dyes are not good for sensitive skin.

Use deep cleansing masks no more than once a week.
