It turns out that they also affect fertility – future parents must take care of eating meals that will make the reproductive cells of the highest quality.

  1. Choose vegetables intensive color, because the color speaks of the amount of fit ingredients that are in them. The best-known phytonutrient is beta-carotene, which prevents miscarriage and helps maintain hormonal balance. Studies conducted on cows have shown that those that did not receive enough beta-carotene were more likely to delay ovulation and develop cysts. In addition, this ingredient is even necessary for the production of progesterone needed to maintain pregnancy. You will find it in orange and yellow fruits and green leafy vegetables.
  2. Another such ingredient is DIM, which supports the metabolism of estrogens in women and men. In women, it protects, among other things, against the formation of fibroids, while in men it increases the amount of testosterone and helps to maintain the harmony between estrogen and testosterone. You can find DIM in kale, cabbage and Brussels sprouts.
  3. There are also phytonutrients lycopene found in red fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes, watermelons and red peppers. Consuming them prevents the formation of cervical and prostate cancer.
  4. Also consume the blue-purple fruits they contain anthocyanins anti-inflammatory. Onions and garlic also have antibacterial and antifungal properties. In this way, you will avoid various intimate infections that make it difficult to get pregnant.

What else can you do?

In addition to your phytonutrient-based diet, include some other very important ingredients:

  • Fatty dairy – eating one serving of a full-fat dairy product a day reduces the risk of ovulatory infertility by more than 20%.
  • Zinc – recommended primarily for future fathers, as it supports the functioning of reproductive organs. Increases testosterone levels and semen volume. You will find it in wholemeal bread, graham and other whole grain cereal products, in legumes, eggs, meat, milk and dairy products.
  • Vitamin E – its deficiency leads to sperm degeneration and pregnancy disorders in women. It’s called the fertility vitamin for a reason. It is present primarily in hazelnuts, egg yolks, vegetable oils, leafy vegetables, parsley, margarines.
  • Folic acid – necessary during pregnancy, but also during the efforts of future parents. It improves sperm motility and semen quality, and also affects the proper functioning of the hematopoietic system. Its source is broccoli, legumes, whole grain cereal products, leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, and yeast.
