How to choose an inflatable pool

Before installing an inflatable pool on your site, find out if it is right for you. Valery Grishin calls himself a professional summer resident and advises paying attention to some parameters.

Inflatable pools, as a rule, are portable. Small models can even fit in the trunk of a car. Consider this moment – will you carry them or not? You can take an air mattress with you not only to the country house, but also to a picnic somewhere.

Design

Modern inflatable pools are made of a three-layer PVC film, the strength of which is sufficient to withstand the load of water and bathing people. The thicker the film, the better. Large pools can be further reinforced with polyester mesh. Such models are more expensive, but they are also stronger. Most often, inflatable pools are round in shape. They also have a multifaceted shape, rectangular and oval. Consider what you are walking? Dive or just sit in the water.

Volume

They are completely different. From 25 liters to 10 thousand and above. Length and depth also vary. If you expect that the pool will be needed for a child, then take the one that is smaller. If for adults, for a company, then, of course, choose a large one. Children’s pools are multi-colored, stylized under any theme. Adults are more classic.

Quality

The thicker the film, the better. Do not run for the cheapest options, they are short-lived. On average, a PVC pool is enough for 2-3 seasons. Do not forget that the material is easily damaged by sharp objects, is not very resistant to ultraviolet radiation and is not suitable for bathing cats and dogs. Consider these circumstances.

Pool side height

Another circumstance that directly affects who can swim in the pool. Depending on the height of the side, all pools can be divided into:

• up to 17 cm, suitable for bathing children up to 1,5 years;
• pools with a side height of up to 50 cm are called “paddling pools”, they are intended for children under 3 years old;
• pools up to 70 cm high can be used for bathing children under 7 years old;
• side height up to 107 cm – a good option for children under 12 years old;
• pools above 107 cm can be used for bathing teenagers and adults, but must be additionally equipped with a ladder.

Water filling method

There are two groups:

1. Fully inflatable pools are distinguished by the presence of cavities filled with air, and they hold water. Such pools are easier to damage, but a similar design is used, mainly in small models, sometimes supplemented with an inflatable bottom;

2. Bulk pools have a cavity-pipe along the upper edge, which completely encircles the structure. Only the pipe is inflated with air, and when the container is filled with water, the pipe gradually rises, allowing the walls of the pool to turn around. In some designs, there may be several such pipes.

Water filtration in swimming pools

This is an important point. You can manually clean the water. Water vacuum cleaners are sold separately for pools. In large inflatable pools, a filter pump with a replaceable cartridge is included. Pay attention to such models. Skimmer – another bonus in the kit – uses mechanical cleaning of the upper layer of water. It is also possible to use special chemicals, but here you need to be careful.

Water drain organization

If you are buying a large structure, look at the drain system. There must be a drain valve. It can be connected to a garden hose and water your yard. Otherwise, you will have to use a pump, and this is not very convenient. Small pools can be emptied simply by tipping them over.

Set

Keep track of accessories. Larger pools should be supplemented with a filter pump, a dirt net and a skimmer. Manufacturers also supply large inflatable pools with a stepladder, bedding under the bottom and an awning. Massive structures with high sides must be complemented by special rubber rings located on the walls.

Choosing a location for installation

If you are going to buy a pool, then prepare a flat horizontal surface without a sharp surface on your site. No rocks or branches. Try to choose the most convenient area. With hard ground.
