The end of winter is still very far away, so it is easy to have time to ride many of the capital’s skating rinks. But how do you know which skating rinks are the best in Moscow and which of them have high-quality ice and warm locker rooms? Based on the feedback from figure skating fans, WDay.ru has compiled its own rating of Moscow ice rinks.
1. Skating rink on Red Square
Red Square, (495) 788-43-43.

“The skating rink is very cool, of course. Quite big and good quality ice. We spent almost half a day there: first we rode, and then we went to a cafe to bask in mulled wine. The main disadvantages of the skating rink are a lot of people (especially in the evening) and biting prices! ” Olesya.
“Keep in mind that if the skates are not sharpened well, then it is better to sharpen them before the session, because the ice is very hard, even and really made for skating! The music plays fiery, it will definitely not get bored. I liked one girl there, but I never dared to get to know her. ” Kirill.

2. Skating rink in Gorky Park

Open daily from 11.00 to 23.00. Rent – 100 rubles. per hour, a wardrobe costs 50 rubles. per hour (for those who rent skates – free of charge). Sharpening – 100 rubles.
“I ride this skating rink very often. The main feature is that the entire park is filled with ice, all its paths, that is, you can ride wherever you want. This, however, has its drawbacks. The ice is far from perfect: you can get into such a pothole that then you turn into paranoid and instead of normal skating you will only look at your feet, fearing new holes … ” Kate.
“The most important thing is that the atmosphere is pleasant. If you are going to spend the evening somewhere with friends, then go to Gorky Park. I am quite happy with the skating rink for that kind of money. Quite a compromise option, moreover, in the historical place of the capital. This skating rink was and will be the center of mass skating and acquaintances on ice! ” Slimmy.

“A good outdoor skating rink with a view of the Government House, quite spacious, with high-quality ice, which, however, becomes heavily cracked in the evening. The audience there is pleasant, the music is unobtrusive, and the employees are constantly cleaning the rink. ” Dasha.
“The main advantage of this kataka is its size. It looks like a big football field, but there are usually few people there. It’s even strange – it’s almost the center. In general, I like to go there, especially since I have been skating for only the second year, and for my level the skating rink is quite good! ” Karina.

4. Skating rink in Luzhniki
Metro station “Vorobyovy Gory”, (499) 637-02-18.
Opening hours: on Mondays closed, Tuesday-Friday – from 17:00 to 22:00, Saturday and Sunday – 10: 00-13: 00, 15: 00-18: 00, 20: 00-23: 00. Admission on weekdays: adults – 150 rubles, students – 100 rubles, on weekends: adults – 200 rubles, students – 150 rubles. Skate rental – 150 rubles. at one o’clock.
“The main thing to remember is that skating there is divided into sessions, in between which the machines clean the ice. If you do not have time to get to the skating session, you will have to wait a couple of hours, which once happened to me. In general, the skating rink is very cool, there are warm changing rooms with benches, a wardrobe and a buffet. In the evening, the skating rink is illuminated and music is playing. The atmosphere is very soulful! ” Masha.
“Of the main disadvantages: there are always queues at the cashier before the session, you can have time to freeze. If you are a beginner, it is better to stay close to the sides of the rink, because in the center the “pros” play tag and arrange races at breakneck speed. True, it happens only in the evenings, and during the day there are many mothers with strollers and babies at the skating rink ”. Eugene.

5. Skating rink on Patriarch’s Ponds
Metro stations “Barrikadnaya”, “Mayakovskaya” or “Tverskaya”.
The skating rink is free of charge. The organizers ask guests to come without cars or park them outside the Patriarch’s Ponds.
“A gorgeous ice rink for families. And it’s free, too. A separate children’s area with slides is made. The polishing machine is constantly driving. There are cracks in the ice, but they are polished. Cracks are formed because the ice rink is formed on a natural reservoir, when the temperature changes, the ice cracks, obeying the laws of physics. ” Yulia.
“Overall, the skating rink is very good, nice music and quite normal ice. We were pleased with the presenters – everything is very positive! I can’t say anything about the rental, since I came with my own skates, but the queue was huge. The only thing that I didn’t like was the prices in the cafe … Just a nightmare. A tiny cake – 270 rubles! A glass of tea – 100 rubles. Well well…” Yana.

6. Skating rink “Russian Ice” (Gorky Park)
Indoor skating rink near the Park Kultury metro station, (495) 237-07-11.
Working hours: from 11.00 to 23.00 (with a break from 18.00 to 19.00). Entrance: adults – 250 rubles / hour, 400 rubles / 2 hours. Students – 200 rubles / hour (weekdays only). Skate rental: 150 rubles / skiing time.
“Wonderful skating rink! We arrived at three o’clock in the afternoon – the ice is in impeccable condition, there are not so many people, there is where to accelerate, not thinking that you will unwittingly touch someone. Sometimes kids go in for figure skating there, but this does not bother anyone, they are certainly more experienced and nimble than most of those who go to the rink. Nice music is playing, it is convenient that things can be handed over on a turnkey basis in the locker room, including shoes. It is convenient that you can easily check the remaining riding time: there are special detectors around the rink, to which you can attach a ticket. ” Svetlana.
“If you think that it is warm inside, you are very mistaken, so dress warmer. Indoor does not mean warm … Of the minuses – a strange ice pass system. If you leave the skating rink to have tea, you don’t have to go back – problems with the ticket begin. ” Paul.

7. Skating rink in Sokolniki Park
Sokolniki metro station, (499) 268-60-11.
Entrance prices: students – 20 rubles, adults – 80 rubles (entrance fee to the park, after 18.00 – free). Dressing room fee – 50 rubles. Rent – 150 rubles / hour.
“The ice is relatively normal on the outside of the circle, but on the inside it is almost impossible to skate normally – the ice is not of very good quality. And the section of the skating rink, where the alley goes from the central entrance, is simply ugly, the skates will have to be sharpened again. ” Julia.
“The skating rink is good. Yes, there is a lot of snow there and there are small ruts, but humanly you can ride. There is where to accelerate. And at the box office they give practically new skates. True, one should bear in mind that Sokolniki is a very popular place, and there are a lot of people there in the afternoon. So on weekends it is better to ride in the morning! ” Vika.
