The best electric hobs 2022
The electric hob is arguably the central gadget of the modern kitchen. How to choose it in 2022 and not miscalculate, we figure it out together with KP

The electric hob has become an essential attribute of a renovated or new apartment. Heavy metal plates are becoming a thing of the past, giving way to their elegant, economical and powerful “colleagues”. It’s easy to get confused when shopping for the best electric cooktop as there are hundreds of offers on the market. To make the right choice says Sergey Smyakin, an expert on kitchen appliances at the TechnoEmpire store, you need to determine the linear dimensions and prepare the wiring.

– The most popular size of the surface for the hob has a width and length of 60 cm, or a length of about 50 cm. Such stoves are the most versatile, they fit 4 burners of different diameters. Before buying, make sure that the wiring in your home is able to withstand the operation of a modern electric stove.

Top 10 rating according to KP

1. Hansa BHCI65123030 (average price 11,3 thousand rubles)

A four-burner model from a popular Eastern European brand in Our Country. The burners are made in two sizes, but are located on the surface asymmetrically and cannot be combined into cooking zones. The stove heats up quickly enough, but it also cools down quickly (however, like any glass-ceramic). The power of each burner ranges from 1,5 to 1,8 kW. As some users have noticed, with the simultaneous operation of four “burners”, the socket into which the stove is connected starts to heat up. The controversial point is the mechanical “twists”, with the help of which the surface is controlled. Old school lovers will like them, but many have already lost the habit of cleaning the dirt from under the handles.

Advantages and disadvantages

Well proven model, stable workmanship
Few will like mechanical switches

2. Electrolux EHF 96547 XK (average price 19,2 thousand rubles)

An advanced electric stove model with a rated power of 7,1 kW. There are four burners on it, but two of them are not quite standard. The first is three-circuit and is designed for dishes of different sizes, while the second has an oval heating zone. All burners heat up fairly quickly. It uses slider touch controls. To some users, it seems overcomplicated, but after a few weeks they get used to it. But there are questions about the quality of glass ceramics. Rarely, but marriage occurs when the coating cracks without external influence. In addition, the touch control unit becomes very hot when the lower right cooking zone is activated.

Advantages and disadvantages

High power, burners of various sizes
The touch control area heats up, the glass ceramic may crack by itself

3. Indesit RI 860 C (average price 10,6 thousand rubles)

Inexpensive electric hob from a well-known manufacturer with a good balance of characteristics. Four burners with two sizes are made using Hi-Light heating technology. The switches that control the stove are classic, rotary. They are located on the side, so they will not heat up, but it will be much more difficult to wash them from grease and dirt than the sensor. To all this, the burners cool down for a long time after turning off, but there are indicators of residual heat.

Advantages and disadvantages

Price, good combination of features
When washing the rotary switches, it can be difficult, the burners cool down for a long time

4. Beko HIZE 64101 X (average price 6,3 thousand rubles)

Previously, models such as the HIZE 64101 X would have been referred to as an electric stove, but now marketers call them hobs to attract the attention of buyers. Before us is a classic device made of stainless steel. However, all four burners are made using modern Hi Light technology. Of course, the panel control here is mechanical – the “twists” are located at the right edge of the surface. With a total power of 6 kW, the most productive produces 2 kW, so it is better to cook in large dishes on it.

Advantages and disadvantages

Very affordable price tag, metal is stronger than glass ceramics
Looks archaic against the background of fashionable competitors

5. Bosch PKN645B17 (average price 19 thousand rubles)

A fairly advanced electric stove from Bosch’s Serie 4. A big plus of the model is its burners. There are two non-expandable ones (both different sizes), one with an oval zone and a double-circuit one. The total power is 7,5 kW. The touch control panel is on the front. By the way, this model is of German assembly, which indirectly speaks of its quality. But there is one nuance – the glass-ceramic surface is made with a slight relief, which somewhat complicates the cleaning of the stove. In addition, some users have experienced rapid rubbing of the surface.

Advantages and disadvantages

Assembled in Germany, large range of burner sizes
There are questions about the wear resistance of the glass-ceramic surface

6. Zanussi CPZ6466KX (average price 15,8 thousand rubles)

Electric hob with a power of 7 kW with an application for an interesting design. Among the four burners there is a double-circuit and with an oval expansion zone. Button control sensors are located in front, if necessary, they are blocked with one touch. However, the sensors get quite hot when the lower burners are in operation. But the “burners” quickly reach the operating temperature. In Zanussi CPZ6466KX, there is a “disease” of many glass-ceramic stoves – the coating does not resist wear well and can become scratched in just a couple of weeks of use.

Advantages and disadvantages

Touch control, double-circuit and oval heating zones
The touch control is heated, glass ceramics are quickly scratched

Despite the budget solution, there is a touch control located in front. Candy CDH30 has both a burner timer and a sensor lock, which will be useful to parents of young children. But if you choose this model, then you should know that the burners heat up slowly, and their edging can wear out quickly.

Relatively affordable option, timer and control lock
Two burners are not suitable for everyone, the burners heat up slowly

8. MONSHER MKFC 645 (average price 12,3 thousand rubles)

Cooktop with four burners, which are literally scattered over the entire surface. Design delights do not end there – the touch control panel stretched out in front almost from edge to edge and looks quite unusual. With a total stove power of 7 kW, the most powerful burner has two circuits. Of the essential options in the MKFC 645 there is a timer and an auto-off function. Finally, the manufacturer offers as much as a two-year warranty.

9. Gorenje ECT 644 BCSC (average price 15 thousand rubles)

Glass-ceramic hob with a power of 6,3 kW. This model has four burners, two of which are dual-zone. Button control sensors are located on the front and have the ability to lock with one touch. The hob is equipped with a residual heat indicator and a safety switch. The glass-ceramic panel suffers from the “disease” of many analogues – after a short time it is overwritten and covered with scratches. In addition, some users have complained about the clicking burner relay, which makes an unpleasant clattering sound every 40 seconds.

10. Midea MCH64464X (average price 16 thousand rubles)

Electric hob with a good range of functions. Four Hi-Light burners, one of which is double-circuit, touch control and a frame included – a good bid for success. There is also a residual heat indicator that has already become familiar, which greatly simplifies the life of forgetful users. With a glass-ceramic surface in this stove, you need to be careful, abrasives and aggressive chemicals can ruin the presentation.

Advantages and disadvantages

The model has everything for the average user, the frame is included in the delivery
Conservatives can be scared off by a purely Chinese origin; when cleaning the stove, you need to be careful with the glass surface

How to choose an electric hob

Electric hobs are now dominating the kitchen appliances market. Gas is gradually losing ground, because it is not carried out in modern high-rise buildings. Induction, for all their attractiveness, remain quite expensive, and someone is frightened by the very possibility of an electromagnetic field around them. Therefore, the choice of electric for most s remains quite logical. So how to choose such a hob among all the variety?

Type of burners

When choosing an electrical panel, the buyer first of all faces different technologies. And now on sale you can find many models with classic heating elements made of stainless steel. The indisputable advantage of this solution is its cheapness, but there are many disadvantages – from long heating and cooling to the inconvenience of washing such a surface. The modern version is glass ceramics. There is also plenty to choose from – rapid, Hi-Light and infrared panels. The first uses a high-temperature coil for heating, the second uses a special low-resistance alloy tape, and the third uses a halogen lamp that emits heat in the infrared range. Each of the technologies has its pros and cons, for example, rapid panels cost less, Hi-Lights heat up and cool down faster, and infrared devices instantly provide heat. However, manufacturers are trying to combine different heating technologies in panels.

Heating zones

This point is also related to the question of burners, the answer to which simplifies the choice of the best electric hob. Let’s make a reservation right away, this only applies to glass-ceramic surfaces, but given the fact that they are actively replacing metal “brothers”, every buyer should understand it. By default, electric stoves have two to four burners, each of which has its own fixed size. Often, models are made according to the 2 + 2 scheme (two large and two small). In more advanced panels, there are already two-zone or even three-zone burners, in which smart electronics determine the size of the dishes located on the stove. There are also expandable oval zones that are suitable for elongated dishes, for example, ducklings.

Dependent and independent

A modern hob may or may not depend on an oven. The first option, more classic, is a single device when the stove and oven are connected by wires. An independent panel is good because it can be installed almost everywhere and combined, if necessary, with different types of ovens. Panels can be supplied with or without a frame. The framing gives a certain advantage – the boiled-off liquid will not leak onto the floor or countertop. But cleaning becomes a little more difficult.

Management

In electric hobs today, two types of control are used – mechanical and touch. The former are often found either in inexpensive or in models aimed at conservative users. The switches have their advantages – they practically do not heat up when cooking, do not react to moisture, and you can control the stove almost blindly. But when cleaning, the protruding elements turn into real flour, especially when the control panel is flush with the surface. Sensor blocks are now in vogue and manufacturers are experimenting with them in every possible way. With a slider sensor, you need to slide your finger over the switch, the button sensor, of course, simulates pressing a button. Cleaning the hob with such controls is easy and relaxed, but it will be completely devoid of the advantages of mechanics.

Additional options

Marketers are trying to increase sales of electric hobs by equipping them with all sorts of features. True, not all of them are useful and not everything is worth overpaying for. Really useful features make cooking really easy. For example, the timer allows you to set a certain time, the residual heat indicator will protect you from burns. The control lock will protect against playful children’s hands, and the overheating protection will automatically turn off the stove.
