- How to choose an electric bike
An electric bicycle can be attributed to a separate type of transport. On such an electric bike, you can cover a considerable distance, as the motor, battery and controller are installed here. Thus, the electric bike is suitable for moving around the city and outside the city, with it you do not need to be in excellent physical shape in order to ride well. It’s also a great choice for kids as it can match them with adults on family bike rides.
However, such bikes have a significant drawback – weight. Due to the large amount of equipment, bicycles become very heavy. This makes it difficult to pedal when driving without the engine running, and also makes it difficult to transport and move the vehicle.
The ranking considers the best e-bike models in 2022, as well as recommendations for choosing the bike that is right for you.

How to choose an electric bike
Which e-bike do you need
An electric bike is a great transport for a city dweller. A nimble, eco-friendly bike will get you where you want to go, even if you don’t feel like pedaling.
Electric bicycles are divided into two types according to the principle of operation. If you want to ride completely effortlessly, you need to choose a bike in which the motors are mounted on wheels and work without human intervention. In electric hybrid bikes, the motors are installed in the carriage and start their work when pedaling, which significantly reduces the load on the legs during torsion. But such a bicycle cannot ride completely independently, but only facilitates the work of a person.
Depending on the purpose, you can choose a bike for anything: a quiet ride around the city, an active race on the highway or for extreme off-road driving. They can install a motor on any type of bikes and develop an electric model of any category.
Motor and battery
When choosing, first of all, pay attention to the motor – the main difference between an electric bike and any other. An important indicator is the power of the motor. The higher its power, the greater the speed the bike develops, as well as the higher its traction – the ability to quickly start and overcome climbs. However, such a motor consumes battery power faster.
With a capacious battery, the peak power of the motor is higher, but only within the limits of the possible. If you install a weak battery on a powerful motor, or vice versa, the resulting power and speed will be very low, since the equipment will not be able to exceed its design capacity. Therefore, it makes no sense to install powerful equipment when the rest is weak.
Usually, motors with a power of 250w to 2000w are installed on electric bicycles, that is, the spread is very wide and you can choose what is suitable in a particular case. When driving quietly around the city, a powerful engine is simply not needed, and when overcoming sports tracks, you cannot do without it.
