The best cocktails with tequila and Cointreau

Fulfilling another promise: Friday selection of cocktails, which include tequila. I talked a little about tequila, told about chasers and posted a small selection of these very chasers. Today, I’m posting tequila-based cocktails in tandem with other alcoholic drinks, in particular orange liqueur, which is most often Cointreau or Triple Sec. I will talk about these liqueurs in the near future, but for now, keep a fresh selection.

Sangrita (conditionally build, addition to tequila)

For some reason, I did not mention this wonderful drink in previous articles. This is the progenitor of the chasers I wrote about. Since the beginning of the last century, Mexicans like to drink tequila with sangrita: a mixture of tomato and orange juice, spices and hot sauces. As you know, these tequila cocktails, if you can call them that, were invented by the widow of Sanchez Guadalupe, who owned a bar in the 20s of the last century near Lake Chapal, located in Helisco (the birthplace of tequila). The principle of preparing sangrita is the same as that of chasers, so feel free to watch my first Friday selection. And here is one of the variants of sanrgita, which was invented by Seyran Gevorgyan.

Innings:

  • jug;
  • stacks.

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of silver tequila;
  • 600 ml of tomato juice;
  • 300 ml orange juice;
  • 140 g lime;
  • 80 g celery;
  • 160 g cucumber;
  • 20 ml of red Tabasco sauce;
  • 1 g salt;
  • 1 g ground black pepper.

Preparation:

  • a liter of sangrita is enough to wash down about 20 shots of tequila;
  • finely chop one cucumber and half a celery stalk into a jug;
  • pour juice and tabasco into a jug, squeeze 2 limes into it;
  • add one teaspoon of salt and pepper;
  • stir the contents of the jug with a bar spoon and pour the finished sangrita into piles;
  • drink tequila, drink sangrita 🙂

Yes, the Mexicans never cease to amaze – the culture is simply mesmerizing, and their fantasies can be envied. Such rich cocktails can only be seen in a London pub, where they can make a cocktail on beef or other broth. Well, that’s where the selection of cocktails ends. I wish you a wonderful weekend with tequila and sangrita in your hands 🙂 Subscribe for updates. Till!
