In the evening, we wash off cosmetics, street and office dust, and excess sebum from our faces. And by morning, as a result of internal “cleansing work”, the skin will secrete another portion of sebum – and washing is required again. What means are considered the best for this procedure? We answer and present the rating of the best cleansers, according to the editors of Healthy-Food.
When and how to wash
If earlier with dry skin it was strictly forbidden to wash with water – only with micellar composition, special lotions or milk, today even dry skin is allowed to be moistened, and for oily skin it is permissible to use special oils.
When choosing products, perhaps the most important thing is their hypoallergenicity, as the number of girls with sensitive skin is growing every year. Especially among residents of metropolitan areas.

Types of cleansers
Gel
Useful if you have oily or combination skin and you like this texture. Eliminates impurities, removes oily sheen, mattifying and slightly narrowing pores. Special soft gels are also suitable for owners of dry skin.
Mousse (foam)
It copes well with dirt and oily sheen, does not dehydrate and does not contain a significant amount of surfactants. With oily and combination skin, foam with acids will help (activates cell renewal). When dry – with moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin.
Milk (cosmetic cream)
The best choice for dry skin. Moisturizes and softens, relieves irritation.
Hydrophilic oil
Suitable for all skin types. Upon contact with water, it turns into a pleasant emulsion, removes make-up and impurities. Maintains the integrity of the lipid layer of the skin, does not provoke the production of excess sebum.
Today, even dry skin is allowed to be moistened, and for oily skin it is permissible to use special oils.
Micellar water
Its effectiveness is provided by micelles – special molecules from the category of non-aggressive surfactants. This tool is universal and suitable for any type of skin. In addition, some brands, such as La Roche-Posay, release micellar water for different skin types.
Soap
Washing is acceptable, but undesirable. High alkalinity (normal bar soap has a pH of 9-11) disrupts the natural pH balance of the skin (dry skin pH 3 to 4,6; normal skin 4,7 to 5,7; oily skin 5,8 to 7 ). However, now there are so-called syndets. These are synthetic soaps of liquid or solid consistency with a pH of 5,5. They cleanse well oily and combination skin, relieve inflammation. But syndets should not be used constantly, so as not to dry out the epidermis.
Cream and balm
Foaming products, which often include oils and plant extracts. Recommended for dry and dry skin. If the list of ingredients contains drying components (extract or oil of eucalyptus, tea tree), then a cream or balm is also suitable for oily skin.
