The Art of Mixing Beverages and Spirits

A new edition of Mixologya arrives in the capital of Spain to show the world that cocktails are still booming and above all creating trends.

The International Congress of Beverages and SpiritsMixologya is already one of the most important internationally, considering itself the fourth benchmark in the distillate sector.

During the next 19 and 20 September, a new edition will be held in Madrid, which, as in the previous Mixologya calls, will bring together the main players and Bartenders to train and teach the professional and private public a little more about the art of mixing.

This new edition is presented with more than 25 presentations led by Joao Eusebio; where a thousand brands will take advantage of the congress to present their novelties, among them we highlight Charles McLean, Dean Callan, Alfred Cointreau, Fabio La Pietra, HIdetsugu Ueno, Marc Alvarez, Javier Caballero, Óscar Pino, Damián Seijas, François Monti, Marcio Silva, Gemma Brownlees, Jacob Briars, Peter Lewis, Frank Lola, Fabian Cervcano, Marian Beke, Agustín Sans, Jillian Vose, etc.

The Mixologya School, organizer of the event, stated the following in its presentation:

Mixologya 2016 is conceived as the best exponent of training conferences on trends around the beverage, spirits and blends industry.

Its objective to educate and show the Premium products that are exhibited in the national market is still valid, and it also aims to create new trends in the world of fusion, art and distillates.

The incessant academic activity of mixologya

We are before a sample in congress format of drinks and spirits, and its didactic or formative part could not be missing.

The environment that surrounds the clients of the hospitality industry makes them demand more and more not only products but also experiences, for which the professionals of the bar must be perfectly trained to offer this new experience at the time of consumption to their clients.

For this reason, in parallel to the activity of the congress that is concentrated in IFema, outdoor events will be held such as the COCKTAILS & ART event on the night of 19, at Calle San Cayetano, 8, where bartenders and mixers Matias Iriarte (Ginbo & Chapeau de Mallorca), Jonathan Solis (Goods & Spirits Barcelona) and Salvatore D’amico (Brand Ambassador MartinS Brands).

Along with this series of events, they will be added to the phases of the congress, presentations and talks, as well as the exhibition of new drinks and a series of areas of interest for professionals such as:

  • Mix Eat: talents of great national prestige in cocktails and gastronomy will be in charge of developing fusion workshops between gourmet gastronomic products and premium distillates, promoting new forms of consumption.
  • Perfect serve school: The bartenders will be able to practice the respective “perfect serve” that the brands suggest through an interactive circuit, led by Stephan Hinz (Spiegelau) and the Ross Flair Valenciana school.
  • Blind tastingsSommeliers will be able to develop their organoleptic skills through blind tastings. A fun and interactive education area, where stakeholders in the sector can develop their learning capacities.
  • Area de Shopping: An area for sale to the public, where you can buy products and books related to the hotel and restaurant industry.
  • Lunch Station: a space reserved for exhibitors and their clients, where they can taste the signature cuisine of six emerging chefs, with a special selection of wines, cavas and champagnes on the congress terrace.
