Aerius is a medicine in the form of a syrup, tablets or soluble tablets. The active substance is desloratadine, and it is used in the case of allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever), urticaria, itching. To be delivered on a prescription. It is a preparation from the group of antihistamines (1nd generation). It is not recommended for use in children under XNUMX year of age.

Aerius syrup – action, indications

The syrup has antiallergic properties and is available on prescription. Usually it is prescribed for the following ailments:

  1. allergic rhinitis (hay fever),
  2. allergy to dust mites,
  3. itching and skin changes,
  4. allergic urticaria.

Taking Aerius is intended to alleviate the troublesome symptoms of allergies. In the case of ailments related to chronic idiopathic urticaria, the drug relieves itching of the skin and reduces the number and size of skin lesions. In the treatment of rhinitis, Aerius reduces secretions, prevents tearing of the eyes, itching of the palate, coughing and redness of the eyes.

Aerius – contraindications, precautions and side effects

Aerius is not intended for young children under 1 year of age. Caution should also be exercised in children between 1 and 2 years of age. It is also a contraindication hypersensitivity to desloratadine, loratadine and any other excipients it contains.

Inform your doctor if you are taking other medications or if you are suspected of having pregnancy. Women breastfeeding they should also tell the doctor prescribing Aerius about this. If the sick suffers from liver disease, he should also tell the doctor about it. If you are unsure about Aerius, you may find this leaflet very helpful, so please read it carefully. Aerius – side effects

As with all medicinal preparations available in pharmacies, Aerius can also cause side effects. Belong to them:

The less common ones include:

In children, the most common side effects are insomnia, fever and diarrhea. The use is strictly dependent on the doctor’s recommendations, usually one dose is taken a day, depending on the patient’s age. Prophylactic use is permissible in the period when allergy may occur.

The drug, unlike most antiallergic preparations, did not cause drowsiness in most users, and a marked reduction in symptoms, especially urticaria and itching, was observed.
