The exercise “tin man” is the technique of the exercise:

  1. Connect a standard handle to a cable routed through the top block.
  2. Stand sideways to the machine and grab the handle with one hand, then take a step away from the simulator. Weight should be slightly raised, and your hand should continue the line of the rope to be fully extended.
  3. Feet are shoulder width apart.
  4. Reach your free hand up to the hilt and take it with both hands. Hands still needs to be straightened.
  5. In one motion pull the handle down and sideways to the opposite knee, rotating your torso. During the movement keep your arms and back straight, legs slightly bend your knees.
  6. Slowly return to the starting position.
  7. Complete the required number of repetitions.
  8. Then switch hands and do the same thing for the other side.

Tip: encourage the maximum amplitude of the movement and keep the abdominal muscles tense throughout the exercise.
