The exercise “tin man” is the technique of the exercise:
- Connect a standard handle to a cable routed through the top block.
- Stand sideways to the machine and grab the handle with one hand, then take a step away from the simulator. Weight should be slightly raised, and your hand should continue the line of the rope to be fully extended.
- Feet are shoulder width apart.
- Reach your free hand up to the hilt and take it with both hands. Hands still needs to be straightened.
- In one motion pull the handle down and sideways to the opposite knee, rotating your torso. During the movement keep your arms and back straight, legs slightly bend your knees.
- Slowly return to the starting position.
- Complete the required number of repetitions.
- Then switch hands and do the same thing for the other side.
Tip: encourage the maximum amplitude of the movement and keep the abdominal muscles tense throughout the exercise.
