A 78-year-old from Australia choked on a piece of chicken while eating. The man was taken to hospital. He told the doctors that he felt something stuck in his throat. However, the x-ray of his neck and chest revealed nothing suspicious and he was sent home.
After five days, the man returned to the same emergency department with shortness of breath and wheezing. Then the computed tomography showed that there is a centimeter chicken bone in his airways.
The victim immediately underwent surgery, during which the bone was removed from the respiratory tract. After three days, he left the hospital.
