We looked at the most popular holiday treats, desserts and drinks. We show how many calories they have. Do they carry any nutritional value along with calories? Read on.
600 kcal – cream ice cream with chocolate-caramel glaze with nuts and raisins
Just 2 scoops of such ice cream with additives provide over 600 kcal. This is 1/3 of a woman’s daily energy requirement and a quarter of a man’s daily energy requirement.
The more ice cream additives: toppings, fruit, nuts, etc., the tastier they are, but also the more calories we consume. Such real ice cream mainly consists of milk or cream, fat, sugar and selected additives. Therefore, they are a source of not only energy, but also calcium, vitamins A, D, E. Another advantage of ice cream is the fact that it is easy to digest. Chemically, it is just an emulsion, and this form of the product is easier for the body to process. Only ice cream additives can be less digestible.
2 scoops of cream ice cream without additives is about 100 kcal. So if you give up on ice cream, you will save as much as 500 kcal.
370 kcal – waffles with whipped cream, toffee topping and raspberries
Waffles are nothing more than a dough consisting of: flour, milk, eggs, oil, baking powder, sugar and a little salt. A dry waffle is about 110 kcal. However, when we add real whipped cream, sweet toffee coating and fresh raspberries, the caloric content of this snack will exceed 370 kcal for one serving.
As for the other advantages in relation to the nutritional value of such waffles, there are few positive features. They are mainly a source of simple carbohydrates and fat. The fruit slightly increases their value due to the content of vitamin C and potassium.
210 kcal — Coca- cola, Pepsi
It is a carbonated drink, which includes: water, sugar, caramel, phosphoric acid, aromas, caffeine. Once upon a time, Pepsi differed from Cola in that it had the addition of an enzyme to help digest protein: pepsin. Currently, Pepsi does not contain this supplement, hence the composition is very similar to Coca-Cola. 1 cup of these drinks is about 100 kcal. It seems little. However, most of the time, drinking these drinks does not end with 1 glass. A 0,5 liter bottle provides about 210 kcal.
These drinks are acidic for the body and contain ingredients that arouse much controversy. Due to these elements and the calorific value, it is not recommended to consume them often.
150 kcal – cotton candy
It is also one of the memories of summer and holidays. Cotton wool is made from sugar in special devices. The sugar melts and cools down quickly. The cotton wool is wound on a wooden stick. Dyes may be added to it to make it take on a different color. It is not very caloric when it comes to a portion, because it is highly aerated as a result of its production. Apart from calories, it does not provide any nutritional value.
1 portion of such cotton wool wound on a stick is about 100-150 kcal. Which is a small part of the daily calories requirement.
150 kcal — lemoniada
