Omicron is considered to be the mildest variant of the coronavirus to date. There is, however, a significant problem with it – it is a long list of possible symptoms, the vast majority of which are non-specific. Omicron can be confused with colds, flu, but also with completely different ailments. Back pain is also on the list of the most common symptoms.
- The Omikron variant has been with us since November and is responsible for the avalanche increase of new infections in European countries, including Poland
- The high infectivity of Omicron causes masses of people to suffer from COVID-19. It is all the more difficult to control as the symptoms of the disease are often ignored or downplayed. As a result, the infected do not test themselves and pass the pathogen on
- The most common symptoms of Omikron are runny nose, sneezing, headache, sore throat and fatigue

Back pain is a symptom of Omicron. It is more and more common in patients
Some of the symptoms of Omikron infection resemble a common cold, but typical symptoms also include those that are not obvious. This is the case with lower back pain, which more and more patients who come with COVID-19 from this highly contagious variant are complaining about it. It happens that pain is the first symptom, and others, such as a runny nose or fever, do not appear until the next day, or even later.
This is very problematic because a person with this symptom may already be contagious. So if it does not link back pain to the Omicron, it is unlikely to start isolating itself and thus pose a risk to other people.

20 symptoms of Omikron infection. These symptoms are worth paying attention to
The ZOE COVID Study program has been supervised by Prof. Tim Spector from Great Britain. Thanks to a widely available application, people infected with COVID-19 can report their symptoms there. On this basis, a list of the most common ailments is prepared for each dominant variant. In the case of Omikron, the most commonly reported were: runny nose, headache, sneezing, sore throat and fatigue.
However, the list of the most common symptoms is much longer. In addition to those listed above, patients also complained of:
- cough
- hoarseness
- chills
- fever
- bewilderment
- “Brain fog”
- loss of taste
- eye pain
- muscle pain
- lack of appetite
- loss of smell
- chest pain
- enlarged lymph nodes
- general feeling of being unwell
- scratchy throat
