Think of the microwave!

 It is the ideal tool for express cooking, for reheating and defrosting ready-made meals (consult the rules for good defrosting), but also for cooking white meats or fish, fat free.

The microwave also makes it possible to preserve the taste of food well.

Wait at least two minutes before serving the dish, so that the heat has finished distributing.

Systematically check that the food is at the right temperature: due to express cooking, the container may be cold while the food is boiling!

Dishes that take a long time to cook … but ideal for saving a lot of time: in the end, they only require little supervision.

 Generally, with this cooking method, they are also complete meals, where vegetables cook with meat: stews, stews, burgundy and pot-au-feu can be prepared in large quantities and are even better reheated !

Good to know

Replace the pasta and rice with semolina : its cooking is much faster and offers Baby the same nutritional benefits.

Cook in the microwave!

What a pity to use the microwave oven only to defrost Baby’s puree! If you follow the instructions carefully, this fabulous machine, capable of releasing a very strong heat in a few seconds, allows you to cook certain foods at high speed (potatoes, rice, vegetables, etc.) and to prepare delicious meals. .

Without forgetting the advantages of this method of cooking: preserved vitamins, little soiled dishes and, a detail which is important, no risk for Baby of getting burned to the wall, a very frequent accident with traditional ovens.

The microwave in practice

Never metal containers, surrounded by metal, with gold or silver decorations! No aluminum foil or porous earthenware dishes!

Preferably use porcelain, ceramic, earthenware, fire glass or certain plastics specially designed for the microwave.

Cooking : in a microwave-safe container, place 250 g of rice and cover with 1/2 liter of water. Salt and pepper. Cook on medium power for 17 minutes. Rinse if necessary to remove the starch and drain.

Eggs : to be avoided when reheating or cooking in their shell, in a casserole dish or in the dish! They can burst, cause burns and degrade your oven.

Beware of stuffed or stuffed vegetables! Often they are warm on the outside but very hot on the inside …

– When cooking for a long time, in order not to dry out the food or even carbonize it, always place a glass of water next to.

-All foods with husks or skins (potatoes, sausages, chestnuts, etc.) must be pricked or cut before cooking in the microwave.
