Terbiderm for fungal skin infections. Dosage of the preparation

Terbiderm is used in fungal skin infections (tinea pedis, mycosis of the smooth skin and skin folds of the torso and lower legs), in variegated dandruff and in skin infections caused by certain yeasts. The preparation in the form of a cream is available at a pharmacy without a prescription.

Terbiderm – indications and dosage

Terbiderm is used in fungal infections of the skin:

  1. athlete’s foot,
  2. mycosis of the smooth skin and skin folds of the trunk, lower legs,

and:

  1. in tinea versicolor,
  2. in skin infections caused by certain yeasts.

Dosage

  1. Apply topically. 1-2 × / d.

The usual course of treatment is 7 days, and 14 days for Tinea versicolor.

Terbiderm and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Terbiderm:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. the period of breastfeeding,
  3. there is no clinical experience with the use of terbinafine in pregnant women,
  4. the preparation can be used during pregnancy only if absolutely necessary after prior consultation with a doctor,
  5. do not use in children up to 12 years of age

Terbiderm – warnings

  1. If symptoms persist 2 weeks after starting Terbiderm therapy, contact your doctor.
  2. Terbiderm is only intended for external use for skin application.
  3. Protect the eyes from contact with the cream.
  4. In the event of accidental eye contact, rinse with running water.
  5. In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug should be discontinued.
  6. The drug contains methyl hydroxybenzoate and propyl hydroxybenzoate, therefore it may cause allergic reactions.
  7. There are no studies on the effect of Terbiderma on the ability to drive motor vehicles.
  8. Good personal hygiene practices should be followed to avoid re-contamination.
  9. Pregnant women may use the preparation only when absolutely necessary.
  10. The drug should not be used during breastfeeding.

Terbiderm – interactions

There are no known interactions of Terbiderm with other drugs.

Terbiderm – side effects

Side effects include mild and transient skin symptoms at the application site, such as:

  1. dry skin
  2. skin irritation,
  3. burning sensation,
  4. in very rare cases allergic reactions such as rash, itching, dermatitis bullous and hives may occur.
