Tenacious is a ground cover, a perennial flowering plant. Its other name is “Ayuga”. It is not for nothing that it got its name: its unpretentiousness and adaptability to any conditions attract gardeners. Having planted it on your site, you can have a beautiful flower bed, without making any efforts to maintain it.
First of all, you need to choose a suitable landing site. Ayuga well tolerates almost all growing conditions, but does not tolerate direct sunlight. It is better for her to constantly be in the shade than in the sun.
Gardeners should take into account that tenacious grass is not a lawn plant; you cannot walk or walk animals on its plantations. Most likely, she will die from such treatment.
Landing is carried out in compliance with such simple rules:
- you can plant this herb at any warm season – from April to August;
- she quickly takes root in a new place after transplantation. But in the choice of soil, she still has preferences – light, loose and fertile soil. It can be prepared from a mixture of turf, sand and peat. You can fertilize with compost or humus;
- on heavy soils, it will be useful to organize a drainage system;
- the prepared soil needs very little so that a layer of 12 cm thick can be laid out. Ayuga roots are small, this amount will be enough.
When planting a seedling in a pot in open ground, it is completely removed from the container along with the earth. They are planted in this form, without untangling the roots.
This herb grows well and is not a hassle for the owner. One has only to remember a few tips and follow them so that she feels comfortable in the conditions offered to her:
- Ayuga does not like drought, so she needs to organize regular watering, and in hot weather, increase it. The water can be used cool, poured from a watering can or a hose with a diffusing nozzle;
- it is very useful to make organic fertilizers. For this, compost, rotted manure or peat are perfect. Sometimes organic matter does not hurt either – take a complex fertilizer or potassium-phosphorus fertilizer. Even ordinary wood ash can be used. In dry form, top dressing can be poured directly onto the foliage;
- the plant can be affected by fungal diseases. At the same time, the roots and stems rot, development and growth stop. For the fight use special means, for example “Topaz” or “Fundazol”.
There are a large number of varieties of tenacious, they all look great in the garden and form a blooming carpet at their summer cottage. They differ in shades of flowers and coloring of leaves.
