Temporary tattoo: is it worth it? Video
A temporary tattoo is a great way to decorate your body for the holiday. Do not be afraid to experiment, because even a large drawing will disappear in a few days or weeks after completion.
One of the most popular temporary tattoos is mehendi, the Indian art of henna body decoration. Mehendi are made by private craftsmen or in beauty salons. The traditional place for such a tattoo is the feet and hands. They are decorated with intricate floral and geometric ornaments. But if desired, the master can make any drawing on another part of the body. Mehendi are widely used for photo shoots of pregnant women, the tattoo is done on the belly. This method of decoration is painless and absolutely safe, therefore it does not harm either the expectant mother or the baby.
Henna drawings have been known since ancient times and are often done in India for a wedding.
If you are good at drawing, you can try making mehendi at home. To do this, you will need to make a paste of henna and vinegar, lemon juice, or hot water. The paste is applied to the skin using a syringe or a homemade foil cone. Henna remains on the skin for about an hour, after which it is gently scraped off. The finished drawing first has a light orange color, later darkens. The tattoo lasts for 1-3 weeks, after which it gradually fades.
A new word in the beauty industry is glitter tattoo or glitter tattoo. This tattoo is a pattern of multi-colored sequins. It is done simply: a stencil is applied to the skin, then a special glue is applied to the selected place, and after that the pattern is laid out with sparkles. In beauty salons, masters can also make an individual glitter tattoo by completing a freehand drawing. This tattoo looks good in both daylight and evening light. It is often done on vacation or before a party. A tattoo that has lost its “presentation” can be easily removed using nail polish remover.
This type of tattoo is very popular among young people who often visit clubs and bars. Ultraviolet tattoos are performed with special dyes, they can be orange, blue or green. Sometimes the tattoo is performed only with ultraviolet pigments and is invisible in daylight, sometimes it is combined with other dyes and acquires an additional effect in the rays of the dance floor. A master working on the second type of tattoo must be very experienced: he will have to work in both normal and ultraviolet light in order to do the job well. When choosing this type of body decoration, be careful: some dyes cause an allergic reaction.
Another popular type of temporary tattoo is called aero tattoo and is performed with a special spray – an airbrush. Before the drawing is done, a stencil will be applied to your skin so that the tattoo has a clear outline. For aerotat use special paints that are harmless to the skin. You can make a classic black or multi-colored tattoo, decorate the drawing with mother-of-pearl or ultraviolet paints. The aerotat lasts about one to two weeks and is removed with an alcohol-containing solution.
Jagua tattoo service, which has recently appeared in the beauty industry, quickly fell in love with fashionistas who want to decorate their bodies. This type of tattoo looks very realistic and only lasts a couple of weeks. The tattoo is performed using a special jagua gel made on the basis of an American dye plant. The absence of chemical components makes the gel safe even for children. The drawing is applied to the skin through a special stencil or a jagua tattoo pencil. The gel dries up within two hours, after which it is removed. At first, the drawing will not be visible, but after a couple of days it will appear and will delight with its clarity for about two weeks.
Body art, the art of painting on the body, is performed using special water-based paints or felt-tip pens. The ease of painting in this style allows you to create three-dimensional color patterns with beautiful color transitions and chiaroscuro effects. Children’s body art is very common at matinees and festive events. Water-based paints are harmless and help to create painting both on the body and on the face. The only drawback of body art is its fragility. You can keep your drawing longer if you use a fixative or hairspray. However, the colors will still wash off after the first shower.
Body painting is a popular form of contemporary art. Artists participate in special exhibitions and competitions
Temporary tattoo that shouldn’t be done
Many masters, especially street masters working on resort beaches, offer to make a newfangled tattoo with black henna. Such a drawing will supposedly hold on for a long time and delight you with a rich black color. In fact, these “tattoo artists” use black hair dye for drawing, which can cause skin irritation, serious allergies and even chemical burns. Remember that henna can only be classic, and drawings with its use are brown.
Also, don’t settle for a temporary tattoo using a tattoo machine. Masters who offer this service claim that the dye lasts for about three years, after which it slowly disappears. In fact, classic tattoo needles and permanent makeup dyes are used for such tattoos. As a result, the completed drawing diffuses over time, but does not disappear for good. Your skin may leave an ugly stain that can only be removed with surgery.
