Tell me how you sleep…

The postures that the body assumes during the day betray some features of our unconscious. And at night, our postures say what we are during the day … A small study of the secrets that our bed keeps.

Do you sleep spread out wide on your bed? Or curled up in a corner? The posture that the body adopts during sleep hours reveals many traits of our personality. Moreover, those who share a bed with a partner can, focusing on the relative position of their bodies, form a general idea of the nature of their relationship.

Guided by this now universally recognized consideration, the Italian psychologist and psychosomatic specialist Anna Zanardi deciphered the basic sleeping postures. Here are nine options for individual human postures in a dream. For those who spend nights with a partner, this test is also suitable: after all, part of the time of sleep, two people in bed do not touch bodies. Look closely at the photos and choose the pose that most closely resembles yours. What can she mean?

What does the body say at night

1. No pillow

The lack of a pillow betrays an independent person, aimed at the essence of the matter, who most likely loves simple and practical things. The one who sleeps like this most likely prefers minimalism in clothes and tends to eat organic products. In everyday life, this person is direct, generous, clear in statements.

2. Hug with a pillow

This position speaks of the need for a loved one, in a love story. But it can also mean that existing relationships no longer provide the necessary emotional nourishment. Or you need to switch attention to another object of attachment. At least for a while.

3. Pillow between legs

Such a position may harbor an unconscious desire for intimate, sensual intimacy. But it is possible that we are talking only about the need to find support or the desire to dominate. Perhaps this is how we try to get even for the pressure that we experience in real life, but we are not aware of it …

4. On the back

Sleeping on your back opens the world (and the sky) to the most vulnerable and soft part of our body – the stomach. Anyone who assumes this posture during sleep is likely to protect himself with armor during the day, lives under the yoke of self-control, and is highly rational. And at night, his body, most likely, figuratively conveys the need for inner freedom.

5. Starfish

The one who sleeps like this wants to loosen up, expand his own space – perhaps because he feels “under pressure” during the day. In life, such a person probably seeks to control everything or does not make the impression he would like. Spread arms and legs speak of the need for contact and readiness for it.

6. On lives

This posture is characteristic of those who, figuratively speaking, turn their backs on the world. It may be temporary or persist throughout the night. This posture may indicate an over-attention to oneself or a tendency to underestimate the contribution that others make to your life. Such a person is important to the acceptance of others.

7. Lots of pillows

If it is not health problems that force you to sleep surrounded by many pillows, such a desire may indicate that a person likes to be in the spotlight and is not without greed. But this posture can also signal a difficult period in life, when you sometimes have to focus too much on your own needs and neglect others.

8. Baby in the womb

One of the most common postures, symbolizing the return to childhood, the desire for peace and inner concentration. In this position, the one who is forced to make decisions during the day sleeps. At night, he seems to relieve himself of responsibility. Whoever sleeps like this has the gift of creating close relationships without violating the partner’s personal space.

9. Soldier Pose

This is sleeping on your back, just like in the starfish position. But unlike the latter, arms extended along the body and straight legs can speak of a quiet, reserved character. About a person who is demanding of himself and others, whose sense of duty you can always rely on. In a word, about a person living … in a military way.
