Telfexo 120 is an antihistamine with an antiallergic effect, used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies.
Telfexo 120 – composition
The active substance in Telfexo 120 is fexofenadine, a substance with an antihistamine effect.
In addition, the other ingredients of Telfexo 120 are:
- core: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium croscarmellose, maize starch, povidone PVP, magnesium stearate;
- coating: hypromellose 6cP (E 464), titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol PEG 400, macrogol PEG 4000, iron oxide yellow (E 172) and iron oxide red (E 172).
Telfexo 120 – action
Fexofenadine in Telfexo 120 blocks peripheral type 1 (H1) histamine receptors, thus reducing allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, swelling and itching of the mucous membranes and skin symptoms (urticaria, allergic rash).

Telfexo 120 – indications
Telfexo 120 is used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies and allergic rhinitis (i.e. sneezing, runny nose and itchy nose, itchy, watery and red eyes). The drug reduces the swelling of the lining in the nose and treats the inflammation that causes the nasal discharge and sneezing.

Telfexo 120 – contraindications
Telfexo 120 cannot be used if you are allergic to any component of the drug.
Telfexo 120 should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Patients planning a pregnancy in the near future should inform the prescribing physician about this.
Telfexo 120 is contraindicated in patients with severe liver or kidney problems.
Telfexo 120 should be used with caution in elderly patients.
The drug is intended for adults and children over 12 years of age.
Telfexo is contraindicated for people who have or have had heart disease, as this medicine may cause a fast or irregular heartbeat.

How is Telfexo 120 used?
Always take Telfexo exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Telfexo 120 is in the form of oral tablets. The tablet should be swallowed whole (not crushed or chewed) with water.
For adults and children over 12 years of age, the recommended dose is 120 mg (one tablet) once a day.
If you take more than the prescribed dose of Telfexo, contact your doctor immediately or go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Symptoms of overdose in adults are dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue and a dry mouth.
Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Take the next dose at the usual time, as instructed by your doctor.
If you plan to stop taking Telfexo before stopping treatment, please inform your doctor. If you stop taking Telfexo earlier than recommended, your symptoms may come back.

Telfexo 120 – side effects
Common side effects (less than 1 in 10 people): headache, sleepiness, nausea, dizziness.
Uncommon side effects (may affect less than 1 in 100 people): feeling tired.
Other side effects (frequency not known) that may occur are: difficulty falling asleep (insomnia), sleep disturbances, nightmares, nervousness, rapid or irregular heartbeat, diarrhea, skin rash and itching, hives, severe allergic reactions (which may include swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, flushing, chest tightness and difficulty breathing).
See your doctor immediately and stop using Telfexo if you experience: swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat and difficulty breathing, as these may be signs of a severe allergic reaction.
Telfexo 120 – precautions
Telfexo 120 should be discontinued before scheduled allergy skin tests (at least 3 days before the test).
Telfexo 120 may have undesirable reactions with other drugs (weaken or intensify their effects), therefore, before starting therapy, inform your doctor about all drugs (containing aluminum and magnesium), including those available without a prescription.
Antacids may reduce the absorption of Telfexo 120, so leave at least 2 hours between taking these preparations.
Telfexo 120 should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package. The preparation should be stored at room temperature, in a tightly closed container, out of the sight and reach of small children.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines no longer required. Such behavior will help to protect the environment.
If you are taking fexofenadine with erythromycin or ketoconazole, or with a single dose of lopinavir in combination with ritonavir, the plasma levels of fexofenadine may increase. This can make the side effects worse.
Telfexo 120 may cause drowsiness and dizziness, which may have a negative effect on psychomotor performance and the ability to drive and use machines.
