Telfast 180 is a prescription antihistamine with antiallergic effect. The preparation is used in the form of coated tablets, and its active substance is fexofenadine. The mentioned factor inhibits peripheral histamine type 1 (H1) receptors, thus inhibiting allergic symptoms. Telfast 180 tablets are indicated in the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria and soothe: runny nose, sneezing, swelling and itching of the mucous membranes.

TELFAST 180 – drug action
Telfast 180 is an antiallergic preparation. Due to the active substance fexofenadine contained in the drug, histamine type 1 (H1) receptors are blocked. The drug combats allergic symptoms:
- sneezing,
- runny nose,
- skin hives,
- swelling of the mucous membranes,
- itching of the mucous membranes.
TELFAST 180 – indications and dosage of the preparation
Telfast 180 is a drug intended for people who want to alleviate allergic symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, swelling of the mucous membranes). It can be taken by adults and children above 12 years old. There is no information on the safety of this medicine for children below 12 years old.
Dosage Telfast 180
The Telfast 180 tablet is recommended to be swallowed whole and washed down with water, necessarily before a meal. It is recommended not to exceed the permissible daily dose of the preparation, as it may have a negative effect on your life or health.
- Adults and children after the age of 12: 180 mg once a day.
People suffering from kidney and liver disorders and elderly patients should be especially careful.

Even when there are several indications for taking Telfast 180 film-coated tablets, it cannot always be used. It is not recommended for people who are allergic to any of the ingredients and during breastfeeding.
TELFAST 180 – interaction with other drugs
While taking Telfast 180, inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, even those obtained without a prescription. Concomitant use of the drug with:
- ketokonazolem,
- itrakonazolem,
- erythromycin,
increases concentration feksofenadyny in blood. Medicines responsible for neutralizing gastric juices may reduce the bioavailability of Telfast 180. Leave a 2-hour break between taking clay and magnesium preparations and fexofenadine.
TELFAST 180 – side effects of taking the preparation
Telfast 180 may cause side effects:
- slander
- headaches,
- excessive nervousness,
- tiredness,
- somnolence,
- nausea,
- dry mouth
- allergy (urticaria, itching),
- rare anaphylactic reactions (swelling of the throat, larynx, potentially life-threatening).
