From March 1, 2021, teleporting will no longer be a standard for children and people over 65 – according to the draft amendment to the ordinance of the Minister of Health on the provision of telepaths by POZ.

Telepaths in Poland. Changes from March 1

The draft amendment to the ordinance of the minister of health on the organizational standard of teleportation in primary health care was sent to a five-day public consultation on Wednesday. The regulations are to enter into force on March 1, 2021.

The change in the rules of providing teleporting, as indicated by the project promoter, means that they will be available only to people aged 7 to 64.

“The above solution is aimed at eliminating the possibility of teleporting with regard to the most vulnerable groups of patients, presenting intensified and varied health needs” – wrote in the regulation impact assessment.

At the same time, it was emphasized that the possibility of teleporting was maintained regardless of the patient’s age, when he needed an order for medical devices or prescriptions as part of continuing treatment, as well as a certificate not requiring the patient’s direct visit to the clinic.

The solution is to limit the situation in which the health condition of children and seniors deteriorates due to delayed diagnosis of the disease state and to ensure proper diagnostic and treatment procedures.

Health Minister Adam Niedzielski in Tuesday’s interview for PAP said that the epidemic showed that “the abuse of teleporting may have negative consequences for the elderly and children”. He also explained that the new standard concerns remote counseling in POZ, and not specialist ones, because the latter “mostly are provided in person in the office”.
