Lacrimal is a medicine used to treat the symptoms of dry eye syndrome, e.g. in the course of collagen diseases, inflammation of the cornea due to the palpebral fissure, or under the influence of wind and sun. The active substance of this preparation is polyvinyl alcohol. The drug is in the form of eye drops dispensed at a pharmacy without a prescription.

Lacrimal – indications and dosage

Lacrimal is a preparation applied topically to the eye as a treatment of dry eye symptoms, e.g. in the course of collagen diseases, keratitis due to the palpebral fissure, or under the influence of wind and sun.

Dosage

  1. 1-2 drops of Lacrimal into the conjunctival sac 4-6 × / d.

Lacrimal and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Lacrimal are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. Before instillation, remove soft contact lenses.

Lacrimal – warnings

  1. A doctor should be consulted if symptoms worsen or do not improve within 72 hours.
  2. In the case of using other ophthalmic drugs, Lacrimal should be administered last, at least 15 minutes after the administration of the other drug.
  3. Lacrimal contains benzalkonium chloride, which may discolor contact lenses (lenses should be removed before instillation of the eyes and reinserted no earlier than 15 minutes after instillation).
  4. Do not touch the tip of the dropper.
  5. Lacrimal can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting a doctor.
  6. After using the drops, you may experience a temporary disturbance in visual acuity (do not drive until the disorder has resolved).

Lacrimal – interactions

In the case of topical use of other ophthalmic drops, Lacrimal should be used last, at least 15 minutes after administration of the previous drug.

Lacrimal – side effects

There may be: eye irritation, stinging sensation.
