For many of us, this holiday is associated with memories of bows, bouquets and the Soviet past. It seems that this is our original, Soviet- holiday. Meanwhile, this is not true: 5 October Teacher’s Day in 2022 is celebrated in most countries of the world. And it’s called World Teachers’ Day. 

And yet we were the first. The holiday was first celebrated in the Soviet Union back in 1965, however, at first it fell on September 29th.

How to congratulate a teacher on Teacher’s Day in 2022

You can congratulate your beloved teacher both in words and with a material gift. First of all, your sincere intention is important: the main thing is that the words of gratitude come from a pure heart. 

If you want to give the teacher a gift, try to find out in advance what he likes or what he needs. Even if you are on good terms with the teacher, avoid too personal presents – cosmetics, hygiene items – they are considered bad form and are unlikely to please the teacher. 

A good option would be items that are useful in work – the holiday is still professional. Also pay attention to things that create home comfort – the gifted person will remember you with a kind word for a long time, wrapping himself, for example, in a warm blanket on a rainy autumn evening.

Do not forget that outside the school, the teacher is an ordinary person, with his own interests, hobbies and hobbies. If you know about them, donate something related. If not, try to guess what the teacher might like. For example, a painting by numbers or a set for growing a fruit tree in a pot.

When choosing a gift for Teacher’s Day in 2022, follow the letter of the law. The Civil Code of the Federation contains clear restrictions on the value of gifts that public sector employees can accept – these include not only teachers, but also educators, doctors, officials, and so on. Each first Sunday in October Teacher’s Day is celebrated in Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Kazakhstan.
