You can remove tea stains from white fabric using folk remedies with bleaching properties. One of them is 3% hydrogen peroxide. Apply liberally to the stain using a cotton swab and let sit for 15-30 minutes. During this time periodically dampen the cloth with peroxide. At the end of the procedure, rinse the material in running water and wash as usual. There is a high probability that the stain cannot be completely removed the first time, so you will have to repeat the steps from the beginning or apply another remedy.
Hydrogen peroxide can be replaced with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
To remove stubborn tea stains, use a tougher but effective remedy – oxalic acid. It has strong whitening properties, so it is highly undesirable to use it for cleaning colored materials. So, make a solution – ½ tsp. oxalic acid in 1 glass of water. Apply the resulting product with a cotton swab to the stain, making movements from the edges to the center. Rinse the material in warm water with the addition of ammonia – 1 liter 2 tsp. This method is quite effective and removes tea stains without a trace.
Tea stains from white items from delicate fabrics are removed as follows. In a water bath, lightly heat the glycerin. Apply it with a cotton swab to the stained areas and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Then rinse the product in warm water. This method is a real godsend for removing tea stains from fabrics such as silk and wool. These types of materials require delicate washing in order not to spoil their appearance.
You can use a mixture of glycerin and ammonia to remove tea stains. Recommended proportions – 2 tsp. glycerin for ½ tsp. alcohol. Treat stains with this product and wash with stubborn stains powder.
It is necessary to be extremely careful to clean things made of colored fabrics from tea stains, since an incorrectly selected product can permanently ruin the appearance of clothes. A weak borax solution (10%) is ideal for this purpose. It effectively removes stains without discoloring the fabric. Soak a cotton swab in the liquid and lightly work the stains from the edges to the center. The next step in cleaning the fabric is to apply a weak citric acid solution. Finally, rinse the item under running water and wash as usual. Repeat the steps again if necessary.
