Reduce fat intake, give up salt and sugar, eat more fiber … Among dozens of ways to recharge your batteries and cleanse the body of toxins, everyone chooses their own method of recovery. Correspondent Anna Melkova found her own: detox using tisanes.
“What gift did you bring me this time? Speak quickly, ”I urged my sister, who had returned from a trip to Scandinavia the day before. My sister Katya has a wonderful hobby – she travels the world and brings some special superfood from each country – a product that is significant for the local health philosophy. It is usually a plant used in traditional rejuvenation and cleansing practices. And I prepare on its basis infusions and tonic herbal teas – a kind of homemade tisane.
So, a couple of years ago, my sister brought me turmeric from India, a unique spice with a lot of healing properties. Then she flew to Japan and returned from there with a bag of sencha tea leaves and a package of spirulina seaweed. And a pleasant surprise from Brazil, of course, was acai berries – a phenomenal natural energy drink, incredibly rich in microelements. So what’s up this time? I look impatiently at her travel bag.
The Scandinavian formula is based on a vitamin cocktail of birch buds, bark and leaves, sea buckthorn berries, cranberries, elderberries and blueberries.
“Perhaps you will be surprised …” says Katya, handing me two bags. One contained black dried elderberries, the other… birch buds. “You understand, the Scandinavians are our neighbors, and the traditions of our peoples have a lot in common,” the sister patiently explained. – Birch, of course, is not exotic, but does this detract from its dignity? Leaves, bark and buds of birch are valued for their high content of flavonoids, antioxidants and for the ability to remove excess fluid from the body. Well, you yourself know everything about the benefits of northern berries: in sea buckthorn, cranberries, elderberry, there are a lot of vitamins and microelements, especially vitamin C, and the same antioxidants. Such herbal teas improve immunity and slow down the aging process in the body.
Alas, I ran out of Scandinavian gifts before Katya went on her next voyage, this time to South Africa. And I wandered around the Internet, thinking: where can I find a high-quality, environmentally friendly product in which the most valuable properties of these plants will not be lost?
What would you think? I also found an Indian blend based on assam tea with turmeric. And Brazilian – with acai berries. And even Japanese – you guessed it, with the same sencha and spirulina! But the most interesting thing is that now the collection is supplemented with tisanes from South Africa and Scandinavia.
The Scandinavian formula is based on a vitamin cocktail of birch buds, bark and leaves, combined with sea buckthorn, cranberries, elderberries and blueberries. It will perfectly support the immune system with the onset of cold weather. And the South African tisane combined the healing properties of rooibos (“red bush”) and honeybush (“honey bush”): they both actively remove toxins from the body. Another valuable ingredient is moringa, a famous African superfood, indispensable for slimness and beautiful skin.
Each tisane is XNUMX% organic and certified by Ecocert. And by the way, these drinks do not contain theine, so they can be enjoyed before bedtime. We associate detox products with something bland, tasteless, but Palais des Thés tisanes debunk this misconception! Not without reason tea experts studied the experience of different cultures for a year and a half. As a result, they managed to create the most delicious blends: Scandinavian tea has a pronounced fruit and berry bouquet. The aroma of the African composition is built around a note of sweet ripe mango.
Speaking of South Africa, I can already guess what kind of superfoods my sister will bring me from there. Only here I am unlikely to be able to surpass the tea sommeliers from Paris in the skill of preparing a tasty and healthy drink.
