Tasectan is a medical device administered to relieve symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal tension. One form of Tasectan is a powder for use in children to restore the physiological function of the intestinal wall. The preparation is also available in the form of capsules intended for use by adults. Tesactan contains gelatin tannate, which is the active ingredient of this medical device. Before use, read the recommended dosage and instructions for use.
What is Tasectan?
Tasectan is an over-the-counter (OTC) medical device that relieves symptoms of diarrhea of various origins. Depending on the form, the product can be administered to children (powder) or adults (capsules). The active substance of Tasectan is gelatin tannate.
Tasectan – action
The Tasectan medical device is an anti-diarrheal agent available in the form of a powder for children or capsules for adults. The specific composition of the medical device helps to control and alleviate the symptoms of diarrhea of various etiologies, such as abdominal tension and frequent bowel movements. Tesactan takes approximately 12 hours to work effectively.
The composition of the preparation includes gelatin tannate, which is a combination of tannic acid and gelatin. They show a protective effect on inflammatory lesions of the intestinal mucosa. The ingredients have the ability to create a protective layer that binds to mucoproteins (proteins responsible for the formation of inflammation) and facilitates their excretion in the faeces in the process of defecation. The preparation does not affect the intestinal motility and is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.

In the case of Tasectan baby powder, this medical device contains gelatin tannate. An alternative to the powder is Tasectan for adults in capsules, which consists of: gelatin tannate, magnesium stearate and corn starch. If a person with symptoms of diarrhea is hypersensitive (allergic) to gelatin tannate or any of the ingredients of the preparation, this medical device should not be used.

The indication for the use of Tasectan are gastrointestinal complaints, such as mild and acute diarrhea and the state of food poisoning. It should be remembered that in the case of children under 3 years of age, it is recommended to consult a doctor before using this medical device.
Changes in bowel habits are not always the characteristics of diarrhea. Usually we talk about this ailment when the stools are semi-liquid or liquid, passed more than three times a day and in an increased amount. Additional accompanying symptoms may also indicate diarrhea, including acute abdominal pain, breakdown and weakness, nausea, vomiting, and increased temperature.
