Tartar: how to clean your teeth at home? Video
Tartar occurs due to poor oral hygiene and is a dense, dark deposit on the surface of the teeth. It damages the enamel, traumatizes the gums and is, moreover, a rather serious cosmetic problem. You can remove tartar with the help of a dental hygienist, but there are also home methods to get rid of tough deposits and restore teeth to their natural whiteness.
Removing tartar with baking soda
One of the most effective folk remedies for removing tartar is regular baking soda. It is easy to use at home, and not only to combat tartar, but also to whiten the enamel. You can make a composition for cleaning your teeth yourself: just add a pinch of soda to your usual toothpaste. You need to brush your teeth with such a mixture no more than three times a week, otherwise there is a high probability of thinning and damage to the enamel, especially on the front teeth.
You can remove tartar without the help of toothpaste. To do this, you need to mix a pinch of soda with hydrogen peroxide and rub the resulting gruel into the tooth enamel. After 3-5 minutes, you should rinse your mouth thoroughly to remove the compound from the teeth and get rid of the unpleasant aftertaste.
You can also use finely ground table salt instead of baking soda. It also has a whitening effect, but its effect on tooth enamel is even more aggressive.
You can enhance the effect of soda with lemon juice. It will take just a few procedures to remove tartar and whiten teeth in this way. After mixing both components, you need to apply the composition to the teeth. After a few minutes, you can spit out the resulting saliva, and rinse your mouth.
Other Methods for Removing Tartar and Whitening Teeth
You can also remove tartar and whiten your teeth with the help of other folk remedies. Black radish has a good effect, which must be grated on a fine grater and mixed with a little lemon juice. The prepared gruel should be rubbed into the tooth enamel with a toothbrush or simply chewed for a couple of minutes. The procedure should be repeated daily until the desired effect is achieved.
The most gentle on the teeth and at the same time effective against tartar is ordinary honey. It not only helps to soften dental deposits, but also has an antibacterial effect. A teaspoon of honey should be dissolved in a glass of warm water and then used as a mouthwash. It is advisable to carry out the procedure at least 4 times a day for two to three weeks.
Rinses that can help soften plaque can also be made with herbs.
Have a good effect:
- celandine;
- field horsetail;
- Oak bark;
- Birch buds.
A teaspoon of any of the listed herbs should be poured with a glass of boiling water and infused for an hour. It is necessary to rinse your mouth with a filtered infusion before each brushing your teeth.
