Within the set of events that take place on the occasion of the celebration of the Carthaginians and Romans festivities in the city of Cartagena, this year a “Tapas Fight” will take place.
The Battle of Las Barras, which the previous year could not take place, is the predecessor of such an “original war-gastronomic proposal”
The Federation of Troops and Legions wants to involve the local hospitality industry in an original idea that helps and complements the list of activities that bring together the entire festive program of the town.
With the aim of creating a wide range of tapas, aperitifs and pinchos, with names alluding to the festivities and with the most careful preparation possible, they can be a new benchmark in the gastronomic branch of popular festivals in the Murcian city and its region.
The gastronomic offer is available from September 19 to 29 of the same month, being able to taste the tapas of the establishment and a drink for the price of € 2,5 i
The locals will serve the tapas in a festive atmosphere and with a recreation of the motif on which the contestant’s tapa has been described, including the waiters’ clothing, so the atmosphere of the festivities will be fully integrated into the tapas fight …
The contest is developed as a contest in two different categories:
- The purely gastronomic, which implies giving recognition to the establishment that has offered the best bites in honor of the historical festivals.
The one that will recognize creativity and decoration that most elegantly promotes the Carthaginians and Romans as a reason for the holidays.
To choose the winners, the jury will assess both the product used, as well as the culinary creation and, of course, the staging and presentation of the products.
Those in charge of giving their verdict will be appointed by the Federation of Troops and Legions, the Integrated Center for Hospitality and Tourism Professional Training, the City Council, the Coec and the Chamber of Commerce.
The promoters of the event will give free rein to all the participants of the event, whether they are establishments and the general public, so that the event is a success and can be held together with the party program in perfect harmony and is one more meeting point to promote the tourist activity of the place on these festive dates.
