Tap Whiskey (Tap Whiskey)

Tap Whiskey (Tap Whiskey) is made on one of the oldest distilleries in Western Canada based on rye alcohol. The country’s legislation does not restrict manufacturers in the choice of ingredients, so the Tap line includes drinks with the addition of maple syrup, port wine and Spanish sherry. Whiskey goes through a long exposure in different types of barrels.

Historical information

The production technology of Canadian whiskey differs from that used in the distilleries of Scotland, Ireland and the USA. The products of most Canadian distilleries are original liqueurs made from a mixture of corn, barley and rye spirits with the addition of natural flavors – caramel, fruit juice or brandy. The industry standard for beverages is a minimum age of three years.

The creators of Tap Whiskey decided to combine two traditional Canadian flavors in their product – rye and maple syrup, which has been produced in Quebec since the 3th century. The company focused on the growing market for flavored whiskey and on those consumers who are looking for new tastes. Master blender Michel Marcel worked on the recipe for the drink. He chose to blend 5, 7 and XNUMX year rye spirits with Grade A Light maple syrup, which is made early in the season without colorants, additives or preservatives.

The producers named their whiskey Tap 357 after the age of the distillates. The new product entered the market in 2012 and attracted the attention of experts with its unusual bouquet. The drink immediately found fans in the US, where it is used mostly in cocktails. The popularity of the brand is added by the fact that a minimum of sugar is used in production.

Production features

Tap Whiskey is made from spirits obtained as a result of four distillations at one of the oldest distilleries in Quebec, Maison Des Futailles. The distillate is poured into charred bourbon barrels, both new containers and those already used 2-3 times are used. Then the products are placed in cellars for maturation, and when ready they are mixed in blends. After adding the syrup, the drink is left for a while to achieve a uniform consistency and improve the taste.
