Taoist practices: how to increase self-confidence

Self-confidence largely depends on the body. To be more attractive, we go in for sports. Chinese medicine says that confidence depends on the amount of energy and the specifics of its circulation through the body. What does this mean and how to influence it?

Building Confidence with Exercise

Chinese medicine is based on the concept of “qi” – the energy that is in the body. We all know how it feels: sometimes there are a lot of forces, and it seems that you can move mountains. And sometimes there is no energy for anything. The amount of forces and how they are distributed depend on:

– health;

– attractiveness, sexuality;

– charisma (a vivid manifestation of individuality, self-confidence).

Exactly in that order! First of all, energy is needed to ensure health. And only then – for beauty and self-realization. The conclusion suggests itself: in order to increase self-confidence and attractiveness, first of all, health is necessary. We often put off going to the doctor and taking health practices in the hope of first arranging our lives (change jobs, build relationships, raise a child), and only then …

According to Chinese medicine, any successful activity is based on health, including the cultivation of those psychological qualities that one wants to possess.

Where does the extra power come from?

If there are enough forces to maintain health, where can you get additional ones – to increase beauty, sexuality and self-confidence? Chinese doctors say that we have three sources of strength:

– dream;

– nutrition:

– breath.

And in this case, the sequence is also important: a good sleep is the basis of an energy resource, a proper balanced diet is in second place. But how does breathing help us get extra energy?

Where is energy stored?

The energy store is the area in the lower abdomen. And specific breathing techniques that involve the abdomen in breathing allow you to replenish your energy resource.

In addition, such practices relax the abdomen, lower back and pelvis – and energy circulation improves in this area. It seems to be becoming more accessible to the whole body, and not “compressed” and conserved in one place. Therefore, exercises on the pelvic region in the Chinese tradition are associated with the general energy of a person: the more relaxed and free this area is, the more energetic and stronger we are, and the more additional strength we have to develop beauty, attractiveness and confidence.

Exercise “Authentic breathing”

To understand how breathing affects the overall sensation of the body, let’s do one simple exercise from women’s Taoist practices.

– Lie on the floor, knees bent, lower back on the floor. Place a book on your stomach just below your navel and take a relaxed, gentle breath with your stomach. Does the book go up? Fine! Breathe like this for a while, developing relaxation: your priority is to combine the amplitude of the rise with relaxation.

Now sit on a chair with your back straight and your stomach and lower back relaxed. Place your palm on the lower abdomen and inhale – the same as you did while lying down.

– Breathe, with each new breath deepening the relaxation of the abdomen, perineum and lower back.

Pay attention to the subtle sensations in the lower abdomen: feel how this area warms up, filling the whole body with calmness.

Do this exercise every day for 3-5 minutes at least for a week, and you will be surprised how much calmer and more confident the background mood will become, how the body as a whole will feel in a new way. This is one of the simplest exercises from women’s Taoist practices, more complex ones are recommended to be mastered under the guidance of an instructor.

Is it only for women?

Women’s Taoist practices are, as the name implies, classes exclusively for women. How, one wonders, do the representatives of the stronger sex increase their energy potential?

In order for men to be able to practice similar breathing exercises, they need to go quite a long way in qigong practices: build posture, work with the spine, master meditation skills – and only then move on to breathing techniques. We, women, thanks to the structure of our body, can master energy practices without prior preparation and increase beauty, charisma and self-confidence every day!
